Someone was questioning the long timing between end of filming and release date, I think they’ll test the movie edits a lot before coming to a final version, I guess also the festivals seasons will be a way to test the waters. Maybe Cannes 2024 will be a thing.

Not gonna lie, I won't be mad at all if she's not gonna perform or attend the Oscars this year at the end, don't get me wrong it will always be a pleasure seeing her performing regardless but at this point I don't have particular excitment in see her performing a song that is not gonna have any benefits from performing there, she's not gonna win, I'm honest, from a side I've been kind of tired to see her in all these years being this awards seat filler or punctually performing at the Grammys for being punctually mistreated anyway.

 

Last year she did the right thing in attending the events and even the Oscars despite the snub, she would have came across as pressed and immature if she didn't, not on brand for somebody who preaches kindness and support of talent, and props to her for doing that because sure it wasn't easy, but she hasn't to kiss these awards bodies continuosly, if this year she will be the one ignoring them despite being nominated, I won't be mad, she has a valid excuse anyway.

HMH still has a lot going for it. It is attached to a Best Picture nominated movie. BOS typically goes to a Best Picture nominated movie or an animated movie (or a Bond theme). The only 2 songs that fit in those categories are HMH and This Is A Life. 
 

Naatu Naatu has won most of the bigger precursors, but I am unsure Oscar voters will go for it. 
 

Anyway, Gaga doesn’t need this win. But having 2 BOS wins would be a major achievement

had RRR gotten more, inc at least a ATL nom, then I would've been certain BOS would be there's to lose, but it literally got no love anywhere else, inc any of the industry guilds, except being relegated to this one category. plus Top Gun being already associated with two major known beloved theme songs, inc a former BOS winner, that could help HMH if voters don't recognize any of the songs on the ballot; which is usually what happens with Bond songs. I still stand by the case had Disney not fumbled the bag with their Encanto submissions, Bruno would've easily beaten NTTD

It wouldn't be a bad thing for her imagine, the contrary, she would prove that she's giving herself 100% to this movie and that her job is her priority, not attending an awards show.

With being the only nomination for the movie NN is the only way they can reward that movie, it's not an end credit song and it has a key scene in the movie, I honestly don't see the song missing the Oscar, they also have campaigned a lot with screenings and events during January.

I wouldn’t say they fumbled it. They had to submit a song by Nov 1st 2021 and that’s before Encanto even came out. They had no way of knowing WDTAB would blow up the way it did later in January 2022. Lin says he still stands by his decision because Dos Origuitas is the song that summarizes the movie’s theme while WDTAB is about a single character (who isn’t even the main one).

The way he didn’t attend the Oscars cuz his wife had COVID and he wanted to stay with her. Super sweet but imagine he had won dd
