I don't understand why some people in here are getting so defensive about people being upset her team botched this once in a career opportunity. Like, just let us be vent and be disappointed. BM had HUGE potential, more than any viral song sans RUTH, and her team completely and utterly lost it. BM could have been a gigantic hit for her, but the momentum was killed and her team/label did nothing to keep it going. It's sad to see it keep falling daily and essentially be "over" when it could have kept rising and kept growing and become a big big hit. 

 

Of course, time is the ultimate truth teller, and we'll see what happens from here. Could it keep growing and be a slow churn hit like Die For You? Sure. But right now, it definitely seems like it's over.

We don't talk about this enough but the fact that she's already a 2x BAFTA nominated actress (and 1x BAFTA winner) is kinda insane honestly, extremely impressive, difficult to get, not everyone has that etc.

That's a rather stupid statement. A song performed by Gaga on Oscars stage and won the Oscars hypothetically will have much bigger effect on her career. Every performance she did on Oscars stage is a classic. A viral tiktok song is a cute audience reach but she could also achieve that by releasing music. An Oscar performance is rare and not easy to come by unlike a tiktok viral song.

I hope Gaga experiences a more Enya-like shift in her career (just with more interviews and albums)

Let's not forget the one two three punch of TIHTY Oscar performance, TSOM Oscar performance and SB Half Time Show that saved her career and changed GP's perception about her significantly. A performance by her on a big stage is a big career impact.

I just don't agree. Oscars performances do nothing for any song sans Shallow, which was a complete anomaly. And chances of Gaga even performing this year are slim since she's filming.

 

TikTok viral hit is much bigger for her in reaching an audience she's struggled to reach and now thriving with. I mean, her music alone is doing all the work, but her team could've worked harder to keep it growing. I know the timing was awful, but it just sucks to see such big potential lost.

 

Even without the charts though, BM will be slaying Spotify for a long time to come hopefully. Definitely coming for 500M+ plus when all is said and done

At this moment in her career, a HMH Oscar performance will have zero impact on her career. A nomination will have virtually zero impact. A win would probably hurt her BA chances tbh.

She's stronger than ever on streaming and she's built up a lot of goodwill since Chromatica. It literally just needs to be good and have decent single choices. 

We’ve learned from Lana though that TikTok hype doesn’t always translate into new releases.

 

I consider her success equity a little less than it was in Chromatica. Then, she was coming off ASIB. ROM/SC were also huge collabs that built the hype for the album to debut with 48m on spotify. Longevity will be key this time and it will depend on the sound. But something Joanne sized, hopefully more global with better streaming figures, seems realistic.

I hope she does because more executives and filmmakers will see her talents and star power, she will meet more people in the industry and make more connection with studios. It's Hollywood, she has to play the game and doubtlessly she would because it's good for her future career, she knows it, her management knows it. Imagine being upset about the song so you want her to miss opportunity like this.

I'm currently creating an application for a school project that uses the Spotify API and I've been using Gaga's Spotify profile for a lot of the testing I'm doing... and constantly seeing her monthly listeners and her top 20 WW ranking always has me like

Because the expectation that they're gonna force it on TTH and do some campaign for it like a fresh single just isn't realistic. RUTH is basically the only song that got that sort of treatment, and it peaked way higher than BM. Kate Bush's label had to fight tooth and nail for TTH with 5M daily, obviously BM isn't going to get on with a peak of 2.8M. TTH is and was always a relative pipedream. 

 

They've already gotten it very solid playlist reach, jumped on it on social media, worked out a deal with Netflix almost instantly to use their footage for a Spotify visual, and sent it to radio. They've done their job. 

I kinda wouldn't mind a Greatest Hits album with re-worked/re-recorded songs around 2028 or something when her career is 20+ years old.

I just hope that Intercourse doesn't force Gar to make TikTok music for LG7, if there's something that we can all agree and notice is that the Gar songs that have gone viral aren't generic or faceless (Judas, Government Hooker, Bloody Mary), let her do her thing, i would rather get a GAGA album even if it flops.

Anyway, BM long-term will hit 500M+ on Spotify (which is a low-ball), have very good recurrents, and good certs worldwide. It will be a hit.

They should be completely hands-off for LG7 and just let Gaga make the album she wants. It's beyond obvious they had their hand in way too deep on ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica, and were most uninvolved on Born This Way. I'm sure they were furious when she decided to scrap the RedOne album, which they probably forced her to record in the first place. 

 

tho let's just be honest, Interscope isn't dumb for wanting her to keep working with RedOne

If anything, they had better notice that the viral songs are from BTW and advise her to revisit that sound.
