Exactly! like love me some zombieboy but any single post-album in a streaming era won't do anything unless it went viral. She posted several songs on Tiktok to test the waters despite millions of likes and performing it. So for her to adapt and using a new song as single is kinda brilliant

The youtube video's success shows there is some hype behind it. Maybe this will be a slow burn maybe not. Either way Mayhem already has two hit singles. Another single will help the album longterm even if it is a flop single. 

The way the show uses another pop artist to sidetrack TDD's impact, and now that clip makes more noise than Gaga's scenes. It's the OneRepublic I Ain't Worried vs HMH in Top Gun 2 situation all over again.

YouTube views are great, and those NMF placements are great but could be replaced by Justin!

We're talking about the use of AI in the creative field right now. That's very much a different thing than me wanting a background for my phone.

After listening with good headphones, the song and especially the last minute or so are like crack to me now! The vocal layers/production in general and dance break/bridge into last chorus are so satisfying. So fun to sing and dance to now it's more familiar and Ive moved on from the 'ahh new gaga song lemme dissect every line'. Love the verses too, so 90s dance mixed with the Wednesday/Mayhem gothiness.

Exactly, even if this doesn't work this time, but this shows she knows how to play the game in the streaming era so she might get it right next time. Unlike these old hags in the base keep asking for post album single with 6 digits streaming number, she actually adapted.

the bridge grew on me a lot, the production there was umph and now "Do the Dead Dance" stuck in my head 

Funny enough the vocals on this are a bit muffled

For sure, the song on first listen can seem really repetitive but it's so dynamic - like the chorus changes it up every line and explodes into the WHEN YOU KILLED ME INSIDE before finally repeating -  and the way her voice and production bounce off each other are keeping it so much more interesting to me now.
