Yeah I feel like the single race is between Vanish Into You, Garden of Eden, and HBDUWM.

all are legit 10/10s so I'm happy with any of them.

while I think vanish is phenomenal, it's a coin toss success wise. I could see it being a timeless classic like always remember us this way or do absolutely nothing.

eden I can see doing good as it's exactly what fans and casual fans crave after abracadabra/coachella, a stellar video could really blow it up.

how bad do u want me I could see smashing  and having the most pleasant experience on radio, but I do agree that it sounds the least exciting visually, but you never know. Gaga can always surprise with a killer visual.

happy with any of them!! Abra is doing so well, dwas is her biggest hit, I don't think she "needs" another big hit, anything else is just the cherry on top.

I've switch teams to Eden (or shadow, but I think that's unlikely), I think the best case is she capitalizes on this Coachella hype and releases a fierce dance pop song with a killer visual as that's what everyone is eating up rn

I'd be happy with either GOE/VIY.

I don't think GOE would do well in the US though, sadly. Abracadabra is doing OK and will have a strong pop radio run, so it was definitely a great single — But the headwinds it's facing as a dance pop song is obvious when comparing the run to other countries. I feel radio is almost feeling forced to play it since it's been viral for so long and coming off of DWAS, whereas GOE would likely get a fraction of the push from Gaga (understandably as she tours) and be following another heavy dance track.

It'd probably still do okay globally. The pace that Spotify chopped it off of Hot Hits playlists left and right isn't a good sign though, it must've had a high skip rate. Hence why I agree VIY is a gamble but has more of a shot.

To your point, anything is a bonus now. Two hits is already great; they're mega-viral, iconic, and memorable globally.

The constant weekly post propaganda to try to liken this to Joanne and saying it has no hits

Please bffr we ain't falling for it

:khalyan2:

Joanne isn't 'like' Mayhem (aside they are having some similarities in campaign).

BUT… the reality is Mayhem is probably gonna end up like Joanne (and Chromatica) where there's no true post album hit. One because it's hard in the streaming era, and two because nothing making noise on tiktok outside DWAS/Abra.

I've always said she would release a new song to add it on TTH

My headcannon is that VIY is 1000% the song they're gonna use in Wednesday and it'll be the next single

Is there any actual reason as to why y'all think how bad would be some smash?

It's not like it's doing amazingly well or something, Even GOE has more streams after being pulled from playlists and VIY and SOAM have only like 100k less than that

Also I barely saw that I still have this gif pinned on my clipboard for some reason

Yes vore yes gaga yes success

VIY (Remix) (One extra second at the end with no audio version) coming to #1 on TTH tonight

It has some of the best legs in the first week or two, but it has fallen and I'm starting to jump ship from #teamHBDUWM! I think it was just due to the swifties/initial fun of it being compared to a 1989 track.

I still think it has the best radios odds, by far, but it's gone down in odds for being a streaming hit IMO! I think Eden with a viral video could have a lighter abracadabra run

Hit probability IMO:

HBDUWM = Eden > VIY >>>> Shadow = Zombie > the rest

There's always a chance she does mayhem deluxe in a couple months and there's a new single (that we currently don't know of!) pushed there too

Im commig from the future. Internet doesn't exist anymore. It was broken the day Taylor and Gaga released HBDYWM remix and MV. Please, be calm

It's still so funny that her two Best Music Video nominations have been for Bad Romance and I Get A Kick Out Of You :dies:

I honestly think this is the most likely scenario, and her cameo on Wednesday features a new song...

But you likened it to Joanne specifically and I've seen posts before insisting it's not clicking online or whatever :rip:

It doesn't lack hits because of its sound, that's for sure.

But I agree every album in the streaming era does not have a hit post album unless they go all out on a video and deluxe (look at Ariana, there was a whole movie for that just so the album could stay stable, the deluxe song wasn't some hit but its doing well)

and Taylor is huge but can't get a post album single to stick either, but that doesn't mean gaga won't at least get decent peaking song if she actually releases visuals, she's one of the 2-3 artists that people still care about regarding videos and they actually get attention online.

If she wants tiktok then a good video can at least give her a good chart peak and keep the album stable, that and a deluxe

Yall would be proud.

My company had an annual sales event with around 1,000 of our employees. The organizers asked if I had any requests for the playlist since I spoke a few times, and Abracadabra and The Edge of Glory were in there between diff speakers. Mixed between a bunch of like.. vanilla 90s pop and classic rock songs that always make it into these types of events. I felt more productive than Bobby that day. I expect a check from Gaga soon.

I had to hold in my giggles as ABRA CA DABRA blared over the speakers to an audience in their suits and ties after a very formal talk about financials

You should add all mayhem tracks in there, I'm disappointed.

i think how bad can maybe be sent to radio? and put on some playlists too? I think artists do that usually right? like gaga with bloody Mary

Then a video for garden of Eden would give her tiktok/viral attention, she's the only one the GP still cares about for videos so if she went all out on one it would be embraced extremely well me thinks

If she did this the album would keep getting good word of mouth and stay stable :jonny2:

I personally want VIY since it's maybe my top 2 off slayhem but I'm willing to risk it for Garden of smashery!

I was already pushing it, I heard someone go "oh, mood change" to whoever was sitting next to them when Abra began blasting :lmao:

In summary, you can all thank me for Abracadabra's streaming surge, not Gaga.

The way Mayhem's only been out for a little over a month yet it's already moved over 1 million more album equivalent units than Joanne :skull:

Joanne: 3,728,000

Mayhem: 4,737,000

It should surpass Artpop in about 2 months (assuming it stays stable) to become her most successful solo album since BTW. Also ASIB being at 11,353,000 units is also insanely impressive.

Born This Way almost reaching 16 million in 2025 is INSANE. :deadbanana4:

With current momentum and the tour, I can see Mayhem ending up with 6-7 million units globally (though I'd love for a deluxe version to help push units even higher).

I can be quite black and white, and I like to compare things to gain clarity.

I said that if Joanne album could start her streaming off with the mass promo, so could an album like Mayhem when the tour and coachella starts - and I think that's been true.

GoE should've had the visual in the second week when it was on TTH

In terms of the hit potential I can only be honest and objective and how I see it is nothing outside the two released hits is catching fire, both upon release and now with coachella exposure. HBDUM mini push is cute, that's like 911/Joanne.
VIY could be a euro radio hit in summer for boomers

And then you have TF/TFM at 42.7 million and gaining almost 11k units yesterday :deadbanana2: her catalogue has gotten so strong and I think the tour is going to keep that momentum going. 6-7 million units is a great estimate. I hope it gets there by the end of the year and could maybe end up surpassing 10 million units after a decade or so. Having a project this big almost 20 years in is crazy.

What if she really release an EP with 6/7 songs this autumn? And then a big 2026 stadium tour a la Eras Tour?

I really think that all this positive reaction they will push a third single, maybe a remix with some other artist?
