I have a theory. You all say that during Christmas week or month, singers in the U.S. don't release music because everything is filled with Christmas songs. But what if she makes a move and releases a "Holiday Party"–style song — Christmas-themed, but not exactly Christmas — like, "You've been a bad ***** all year, well, here's your little gift." Kind of a sexy pop song with a holiday vibe. Since clearly, if she's filming the music video today, we'll either get the premiere in about two weeks or already in January.

Mmmmm, when she recorded Chasing the Sun, it was on July 11, and the video was released on the 29th of the same month.

Do u think an album release 1 week before christmas would be a bad idea? Some ppl could buy it as a gift for. Even if not buy, some would mention it during the holidays so the info would spread faster as we gather in bigger groups during Christmas. And as much as it would be cool to start the new year with Hilary new music, ppl are broke after holidays so it would hurt the sales. I would drop the album before Christmas and start a hardcore promo in January. Sure the # on billboard would be worse during the holiday season but pure sales in itself would be better. It's more important to sell more than get higher position on charts (unless there's a chance she gets nr. 1; but in Jan so many ppl still buy Christmas music because of huge sales)

I think there will be two singles proceeding the album release so I personally think it won't be out until Q2 of next year at the earliest. Judging from what she told Variety last weekend, she's coming with a fully fleshed rollout and will do all the stops to make the era as successful as possible.

I was a little kid, but my cousin I spent a lot of time with was in high school back in the mid-00s and Hilary was her and all of her friends' fave. They also all hated Avril, but I loved both Wake Up was her breakthrough here and after that her older songs were released as well and that's why Fly was a hit two years after its original release after that all her singles were massive, until Reach Out which I think reached #3. Like, her songs were always on MTV. Wake Up is remembered by everyone who was a kid/teen in the 00s, it was really huge.

Well I tend to listen to full albums, but the songs I listen to the most on their own are Anywhere but Here (my favorite!), Play with Fire and Beat of My Heart!

Italy has taste! Hearing "Fly was a hit" warms my soul 

 

Side note, I recently discovered 

"Wake Up" (DJ Kaya Long-T Remix) that was on Italy's 4Ever Hilary compilation and now it's a staple in my gym playlist 

The way Play with Fire should have been a smash hit....a sassy dance bop with rock influence. It's aged so well, I hope it's on the tour setlist complete with pyrotechnics

After all this time… still so fresh and good! That rock influence is one of the best things on Dignity, even though it's a dance record, the production uses all the instruments perfectly!
