Finneas knows how impressive this is. Actually idk if there's anyone else in the Top 10 without any releases this year except her.

Idk if anyone else noticed but now credits on Spotify are complete. You have much more information clicking on "full credits" in all songs. In Billie's case, she is credited besides main artist as Vocal producer/editor, keyboards & synthesiser, composer, lyricist, production & engineering on most of the tracks since HTE.

Just a couple of exemples I haven't seen all ofc.

I'm so happy for Billie, i do. And i think she deserves the spot. However, for some artist, their position seems to be based on their past streamings, which proves that the current BB charts are inaccurate to reflect the market.

The Weeknd has a very strong catalogue indeed but "Timeless" from last year was pretty big in the US too. So i think his position is accurate.

Idk if she's going, maybe if she's performing, or if she uses the opportunity to promote the movie or something new (fingers crossed). From the predictions, it doesn't seem like she's winning, even though there's always the possibility of a Bonnie Raitt–type surprise, who knows. I honestly think she deserves at least SOTY, from this year's nominations, Wildflower is definitely the best song imo.

I saw a video of someone talking about it, and the number of nominated songs that use samples/interpolations is actually shocking. Since it's a songwriter award, you'd think they would prioritize original compositions, but it is what it is ig.

Hopefully a new era is coming.

2026 is gonna be packed with new music from Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, BTS, probably Act II from Beyoncé, and probably new Olivia R. I really hope Billie has new music, or at least some collabs/stand-alone releases, because we really need new music. She's never had a year without releasing something until now, but she also hasn't given any indication that a new album is coming soon.
