I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

Ok, this is random but….

I could be way off, but I have a feeling Act III might be the one that truly shifts the music game once again and its trajectory. Cowboy Carter reflected the past, including Beyonce's personal experiences and past wounds from the CMA's and so forth. Renaissance embodied the present, filling a void for everyone after the pandemic. So, Act III could represent the future. This idea isn't fully fleshed out yet, but I hope you all understand where I'm going with it.

I was just telling my best friend this. Everyone is convinced that Act III as a rock album and mostly in a way that represents the past. But if we go back to the article, it was past present and future YONCE.

Act Three is BEYONCÉ (Self titled) evolved!

Wow!!! COWBOY CARTER will really eventually outstream and outsell RENAISSANCE.

I just can't stop thinking about the Alien Superstar visuals :jonny2:

The first time I heard it was so euphoric. I was never as gagged by a Beyoncé song on first listen as I was with Alien. It was instant. To this day, it is the visuals I look forward to the most.

I can only remember one song from that Adele album: Hello. The same thing with this last one from Billie.

So is Cowboy Carter past or present?

Renaissance is clearly future

Yall are both wrong as I explained a week ago.

Both, Rennie AND CC represent past, present and future. They both, within their genre, go from past references in the beginning (the very atypical Dance/House of Cozy or the Show Me Love sample in BMS or the very classic Country elements in Protector and Jolene) to present versions of the genre to futuristic Beyoncified songs (SHB, Riiverdance, Tyrant on CC and Thique, AUIYM and Pure/Honey on Rennie).

Act 3 will do the same, only within its designated genre, which I believe to be Rock fused with HipHop.

I think so based on the IvyPark Collections.

You had ivytopia which was the silver collection for Rennie, Ivy Rodeo for CC and then there is Ivy Park NOIR left, which, when looking at the Designs, merges leather elements with HipHop aesthetics of the 90s.

The biggest issue with CC is the tracklist and I believe most people who want to start it get sidetracked by My Rose and it turns them off.

It was an oversight to start so slow (for so long) with a risky album like this.

Definitely her messiest tracklist and the throw off is even more severe considering Renaissance's tracklist is perfect with flawless transitions

I still prefer Cowboy Carter and think its highlights are stronger than Reneighs though

It's not an oversight. She simply chose musicality and storytelling over commercial palatability, and CC's the better for it.

so slow? The album is MAJORITY ballads therefore tracklist would never matter.... if you want to hear fast songs or bops go listen to Renaissance

I would love for her to attend the Met Gala since the theme is highlighting Black Men fashions. Doubt she will though since the LA shows will be happening (The Gala is May 5)

How are yall saying the CC track list is messy and doesn't transition? Yes obviously by nature of the genre and style of most of the songs it won't transition like a underground DJ set.

But you can't tell me the opening of PROTECTOR with Rumi asking to stay to hear "the lullaby," to the end of the song with Beyoncé saying ok, to then transition to the next song which is literally a beautiful lullaby about Sir (:chick3:). That that's not a GREAT transition and thoughtful track listing choice!?
