I always expect white people to act up when it comes to black people winning achievements but some black people are showing their ass. Sexism and raccoon behavior towards Black women especially black american women in our community has always been weird AF. The way Whitney was booed and treated by her own community was terrible. In hindsight, if Bey had released Renaissance in 2022 and immediately toured it with the same impact the 2023 tour had, I think she may have won AOTY.  Everything blurs together a bit in hindsight, but she really did drop it and disappear for a very long time.

As far as the last page goes, Adele is a GRAMMY WET DREAM, she WRITES all of her music and 21 was literally her diary on record, 25 was ALWAYS going to win AOTY.

 

The visibility alone of an album like 25 was staggering, that means Grammy voters ALL knew and heard it. It wasn't as perfect as 21, but still weighing all things it was AOTY.

 

In the United States, 25 sold 2.3 million after three days of availability, becoming the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and the best-selling album of 2015.

 

Lemonade for me of course is the winner, but Adele winning does not shock me from a Grammy voters point of view.

 

Also, Beys relationship with the voters was in shambles, the Formation mess and the beginning of her becoming more elusive / TIDAL.

 

 

 

I expected a much bigger impact on Spotify, considering AOTY and the tour announcement basically came at the same time.

 

The no promo, no music videos and 1 single approach isn't working girl.

I also think if she dropped CC in 2019 with Miley/Post songs like planned it would have been massive, the timing was perfect with Lil Nas X breaking through on the charts too.

 

CC after Lemonade into 2019 before and into Covid feels correct.

Ariana is very similar to Taylor, they appeal more to a younger audience than Beyonce does.

True. If she dropped the visuals right before voting opened, it would've helped too. It sucks she doesn't play the game.
