It's very easy to predict once they announce which categories are announced on the pre-show and which are on the main telecast.

If any of the country categories are announced to be on the main show it's a wrap, she's losing.

Not necessarily. Oftentimes winners in the general field will be given multiple televised speeches. Last year, Taylor (Pop Vocal + AOTY) and Miley (Pop Solo + ROTY) both had that. Harry Styles (in 2023) and Olivia Rodrigo (in 2022) are other recent examples of getting a genre + GF speech.

The biggest tell is probably timing. If Country Album (or another category she's favored in) is presented towards the beginning of the show, that might suggest she's winning something big later on.

The only genre they do that for is Pop though. Because it has the biggest stars in it.

They don't, unless they're Beyoncé. I'm sure she knows in advance. She found out LEMONADE wasn't winning in 2017, so she used the speech for the genre category. She found out during Black Parade era that she would be winning big that night, so se showed up to pick up the awards. They truly want her on the GRAMMY stage and in the audience. You can see it in the way Trevor speaks every year about her. I believe they give her info hoping she would show up and even perform

Well, country has one now :gaycat5:

And Best Country Album is usually televised

Meg in 2021 had multiple speeches (Rap Song and BNA). Bey herself also had multiple speeches in 2021 (R&B Perf and Rap Song) and 2023 (R&B Song - which she was late for :dies: - and Dance Album). In Bey's case, these didn't include General Field wins (and gave them the chance to announce her breaking the female and all time win record), but it still shows that she's definitely someone they're willing to make time for.

I do agree, she may end up getting one speech. But just saying that one of her categories getting televised doesn't itself ruin her chances in AOTY.

It really would be a missed opportunity for her NOT to perform at the GRAMMYs, it'll only build more interest for people to see her live

She doesn't need that. The Beyonce bowl already did its job. Her presence at the grammys is enough promo.

They would also want to give her another televised win so it wouldn't be obvious she's winning the big award

Not true. Country album is usually given live on air.

we're really not getting a music video before 2028

This is going to backfire on her so bad and to think it's so avoidable by simply releasing them in a timely manner. To make it worse, I fully believe she's going to release the videos in chapters like how the songs are broken into sections on the album. It seems illogical, and illegal, to drag it out even more, but so has the entirety of the trilogy!

Spoiler

I truly believe she's winning AOTY this year. I was hopeful for RENAISSANCE, but now I'm pretty convinced. The things align perfectly this time. If it's not her, then it's gonna go to Billie or Andre

I guess they hear whispers l, but it's only confirmed when it's announced on stage.

Is this another tour we're not getting a live album from? :jonny:

I've back and forthed about this. I actually think they don't know. Or at least Bey doesn't.

I have a feeling it's the continued sticking point when it comes to her not agreeing to perform. From all accounts, she seems to be able to mandate (knowing about her wins) at other shows (with VMAs, BET etc, all bending backward to make it worth her while with big wins to perform), but the Grammys not so much.

She appears to go "just in case" she wins and to generally keep up appearances.

At the same time, playing Devil's Advocate, I look at other acts skipping the show and I can't help but feel like they have a hunch. Kendrick stays no-showing as if he knows he's not winning. Andre 3000 announced he's not going and I wonder aloud if he either knows some f*ckery is afoot (like he is winning for that flute bs) or knows he's not so isn't bothering.

We'll see.

I think her chances are better this year than they have been in a long time.

Charli, Billie, Sabrina, Chappell and Taylor are all splitting votes for sure

The fact that she knew everybody was asking for the visuals and decided to tease us while we all knew a Tour announcement was supposed to come after the Beyoncé Bowl

Yeah, and back in 2019 it was televised and Kacey Musgraves won both that and AOTY

No, the artists don't know who will win, as matter of fact the Grammy's committee or organization doesn't know either. It's know when the seal is broken live before announcing. This isn't the VMAs.

I feel this tour is gonna be heavily focused on vocals like the album.
