I think the black community in general gets easily spooked by dark imagery. Self titled and beyond she experimented with thrilling sounds, lyrics, and sometimes creepy visuals specifically in Lemonade. Dead panning the camera in live performances while haunting music plays. That's where I assume most of the witchcraft/demon worshipping rumors come from outside of random illuminati memes. It doesn't help she uses the roc nation hand triangle symbol more often than not and for some reason people associate it with the devil even though sororities use the same hand symbol lol. Another thing is that people take Beyonce's music so literal nowadays. Everything gets turned into a think piece whether it's in her favor or not. A popular youtube creator said she listened to the album and had to rebuke the lyrics of Daughter and accused Beyonce of doing something sinister even though it's quite clear the song is not meant to be taken literally. She will never not having accusations against her until she completely stops and goes back to her Dangerously In Love/Destiny's Child image.

I've seen ppl talking about that video! She's the one that sparked the Bey VS Janet discord and have made PLENTY of videos against the work and industry life of The Carters. I, for one, do not play into the bullsh*t claims for views. One thing I've noticed about Bey following her since the 90's/early 2000's before DIL- it's not hard to read between the lines with Bey, she is still very politically correct and reserved, but she doesn't need to say it for you to get it. She has never exuded the things that have been said about her. She likes to do her job and she like to go home. 

Southern BLK ppl and BLK ppl who get their news from social media and YouTube reports will always believe there's something spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally off with her and not by any doings of her own. She knows this and decides not to engage pass contractual obligations or personal expression. I love that for her❗️

This is a pretty biased place to ask this question but I'm curious. Does anybody do vocal stacking or layering better than Beyoncé? I've seen this topic come up on Twitter before and the three names always mentioned are Brandy, Mariah, and J*net. I can see an argument for Mariah, but the other two don't have the range or versatility that Beyoncé has. I feel like people try to knock me off the pedestal because she wasn't the first but just because she isn't the blueprint doesn't mean she isn't the best. I agree with most parts but Brandy is extremely versatile, she might be limited in vocal range but has exemplified textures, sounds and notes that are otherworldly so its a battle between Mariah, Brandy and Bey with Brandy and Bey stepping into new heights on their most recent albums.

My thing is that even if Beyoncé wasn't solely just Christian and was just spiritual on multiple fronts. Why does that matter? She's still probably one of THE MOST uplifting and unproblematic artists to ever come out. Like I really don't see the issue! 
 

Regardless, imagine using religion as a way to not allow yourself to experience the genius that is BEYONCÉ. Like honestly I just feel bad for them lmaooo!!!

While Rennie is the one that makes me feel like a bad bish and kunty af, CC literally feels like food for the soul. It just touches me in places that no other Bey album touched me and I feel weirdly close to Bey when listening to CC. She really put her everything in it - from the lyrics to the vocal arrangements, some of them even being callbacks to her DC days (My Rose, Flamenco and Alligator Tears adlips say hi)

Is it just me or is Lemonade becoming kinda underrated? It's always so low on the Hive's rankings and the recurrent streams aren't that great. I blame the Tidal exclusive.

I feel its because the subject matter is so heavy, I also dont find myself going back to it while acknowledging its impact and finesse. Other than Love Drought, Formation and DHY (and DL and Freedom at times), I dont really listen to the songs separately like that.

 

In comparison, CC, while also adressing heavier topics, has a much more positive outlook (+ the songs individually are much more easy-going). Its way more uplifting in its essence, similar to Rennie and 4.

 

Thats why 4, Rennie and CC are the essential Bey albums. It feels like being super close to Beys core as a human being and performer. Rennie is the final form of Sasha Fierce, CC the final Form of the I Am Side and 4 is just Bey to the T.

I agree with what you say, but I feel like B'Day deserves a mention there, if not the main mention. The funk influences, the creole tribute, the vocals, the energy, the bridges (!!!)... the fact that she came out with such an expressive record only three years into her solo career is impressive. And then the Céline rejects started coming in for Sasha...

I agree that it also showcases Bey at her core, tho I think in hindsight it lacks a bit of polish. A Bday TV (Beyonce Version) would EAT. Just imagine what shed do with the record today with the expertise shes acquired throughout the years
