I do agree, I think it was overdone vocally but that could also be due to the fact that you can't really prepare a performance like that in advance. She clearly is an extremely gifted vocalist, but in this particular performance, I did feel like she was doing too much.

I dont think they'd release anything while it's still showing in theaters. Hopefully when it's released on streaming or rent, they could capitalize it by releasing the live album with it.

I’m just not understanding why the geepee is choosing that song over the DC version by over 16x in streams even though they all claim to like DC better. I also personally like the DC version more it feels complete production wise.

Literally everything about 2 is better. Vocals, delivery and instrumental (piano was needed). On DC’s she just sang it, on the solo version she really felt it. 
 

I wish she had more of those traditional classy, dramatic, feminine vocal diva ballads like DIL and Listen in her catalog. Recently rediscovered Stand Up for Love. So underrated.

I don't think Renaissance sounds very commercial to begin with outside of a couple songs? 

 

We've been with it for quite a while now and our brains have gotten used to it but I remember people being taken aback at how strange and different it sounded for her when it started leaking. It sure took me a few listen to digest and be able to take the music in properly. I specifically remember coming across an ITG leak video on Twitter and it sounded so wild that I just assumed it was one of those fake videos where people claim it's a leak and put something different in it and just scrolled past it before her voice even came in.

 

It's only after I got a catch of the telegram leak of the full album and started playing it and was like 'oh wait so that was actually real' lol.

Very true, I was shook when I first heard it. Im that girl sounded so experimental, Cozy so electronic and different, Alien Superstar like such a trip.. only Cuff It really felt like a "typical Bey" song at the time. She did that

Thinking about going to see the film for the second time since I NEED to experience the film with the cinema bass before I don't have the chance to anymore and I've been thinking about how a lot of the concert was edited down for the sake of the runtime. Kinda wish she had gone full Scorcese and just release a 4 hour film tbh

I’m 99% positive it’s the same vocals from the DC version copied and pasted into the solo version. I can’t hear a difference at all. Piano works live but I prefer the very loud acoustic on the original.

GP most likely thinks it's the exact same sing, they aren't runing to it expecting to listen Kelly or Michelle vocals so it doesn't really matter from which alberm they are opting.
