Not gonna lie, I would be LIVID if I showed up at the Renaissance Tour and saw Lil Wayne, like actually pissed.

I DO not want to give him money and YES he is a homophobe.

HUGE oversight and Twitter is picking up on it FAST.

Lil Wayne is a homophobe?

Did he perform with DJ Khaled?

DJ Khaled literally brought out Lil Wayne and Offset.

Wiz is cool, Coi is cool and so is the other one... forgot who it was, but Wayne and Offset are chops for this experience.

Wayne is a not a good dude in the slightest, especially not towards black or gay people.

I'm a single lady. :gayoncecat1:

I think The Big 3 gets cut because from Plastic Off The Sofa onward, the only song that’s not brand new Renaissance material is Naughty Girl — and Drunk if she does The Big 3. That’s 8 new songs back to back.

I didn’t notice it when I saw her from CR in Chicago, because I was surrounded by stans…. but the stretch from Plastic Off The Sofa felt challenging for the casual fan when I saw her from a non-floor seat in Phoenix.

I think it’s more of a show momentum thing and keeping the audience engaged with songs they instantly recognize.

Present!

I know this was possibly meant as shade (?), which I'd get given all we've been through with Bey this era.

However, I've been really intrigued about the whole visuals/streamers negotiation tea we got from Jeff Sneider the other day.

Deep diving into the backend of Taylor's situation, it seems the streamers were also giving her the run-around hence her AMC deal.

She's now smashing records and has drummed up almost $30 million in presales of theater tickets...from a show she taped across a couple of nights. Bear in mind that this is just North American ticket sales.

Assuming Bey doesn't have a deal in place yet (which I actually don't think is the case), Taylor's situation could easily benefit Bey in one of two ways:

A) The streamers see there is still value in select big music artist partnerships, stop playing hardball, and essentially give Bey what she wants (which insiders say is a limited theatrical release followed by a quick streaming debut). In the art of competition, they won't want artists flocking to make independent theatrical deals like Taylor did in favor of their platforms. In the simplest terms, it'd make way more sense to cut Bey a $30 million check for exclusive and eternal rights to a film she produced in-house than have her "do a Taylor", retain ownership, release it indie, make a tonne a money, and still have the freedom to house it on a rival streaming platform down the line. In a way, it's much more advantageous to, for example, use the hype around being "the" platform to "present" 'the "long-awaited Beyonce visuals" to drum up subscribers than missing out entirely.

OR

B) Bey "does a Taylor" and cuts a theatrical deal. Even if her base isn't as wide as a Taylor's "middle America" core to drum up insane sums like $20 mill/$30 mill from presales, one vital difference is that Bey would be premiering her ish worldwide. So, even with the most conservative estimate of its box office performance, she'll be making tens of millions back and thus turning a big profit if (for example) the visuals cost her a small amount to actually make. She retains ownership and thus can do as she chooses with them afterwards. So, while we sit here waiting for a streamer, she would in theory have the scope to go to theaters first and make it available on all digital stores after, sell physicals in her store, merch it up like she does with the music. So on and so forth.

I'm for sure looking at this through stan-coated glasses and admit there's a tint of "assuming" there's a sizeable amount of interest in "Brand Beyonce" by streamers and theater partners who have data we for sure don't (and might suggest the opposite). But just mulling over all of this and assessing the variables assures me that, even in the worst case scenario, she has...options.

In our annoyed state, I'm seeing a lot of "just release it on YouTube". But much as she annoys me, it's vital not to forget that the math has to math! Producing the visuals costs a lot of money; money that she spent upfront and will absolutely not make back on YouTube. Or, at least, not on YouTube alone.

Anyway, this was wayyy longer than intended. But one thing is for sure: I think the future of Bey visuals (beyond Rennie) will probably look different on the backend. Her model of producing big splashy visual pieces to her albums and shopping them with a certain expectation of multiple takers and a big pay-off doesn't seem as...certain...anymore. The change could be as simple as snagging production deals that guarantee a release before she's even shot a scene (like many conventional movies)...or skewing less big and all-out (think indie short films). That said, I don't foresee her ever really going back to basic YouTube videos. By going big and theatrical, she's put herself and her output in certain rooms that she would voluntarily be exiting (Emmys, Oscars, Golden Globes) by ever going the YouTube route. It's far less lucrative too and we know fave is about her bag.

the crowd went crazy

different strokes for different folks...it wasnt just gay people there

I loved every single song on Ren from the jump except maybe SR. 🤣🤣

Cozy live made me appreciate it SO much more.
AHAP & AIUYM have always been those girls.
Those “la la la la” on Energy were perfect.

I’m probably not gonna see her in New Orleans as I was planning because I bought a new vehicle.

I really wish she would drop the visuals. I mean … some of her fans have died and never seen them 😩

the artist of my generation, so glad I got to see her live and during THIS tour.

It's literally called the "Renaissance World Tour", not the "What New Music Yall B*tches Betta Dance to this old sh*t World Tour". One lie was enough for its title.

If she didn’t do most of the songs from Renaissance, the girls would be complaining because it’s too few. If she did Thique/AUIYM every show, they would complain that it’s too much. The same happened with Justice for Thique. Everyone wanted it back when she cut it off, but now suddenly girls are complaining about her bringing it back and that it’s bad. There are some things I will never be able to understand

LMFAO!

I felt so awkward when everyone around me sat down during Plastic & Virgo’s Groove.  I almost sat down too, but I said NAH!  That’s y’all business!

The theory that a limited theatrical release would take the views from the streaming service makes NO SENSE. People paying to watch it in cinemas (fans) would easily check it again at home if they have the streaming service. I watched Homecoming or Lemonade way more times than anybody has watched Bird Box for sure. :rip:

Glad you brought it up because I NEVER understood why Hive made this out to be some big cryptic thing. The message was very crystal clear: releases used to be on Tuesday, Bey drops ST on Friday -> releases officially move to Friday -> and now she's releasing [released] BMS on Tuesday

Nothing more, nothing less. The whole debacle was really serving no deduction skills :deadbanana2:

No because she said it in the same as “we’re doing a traditional rollout” so it’d safe to assume that she was setting a schedule :deadbanana4::toofunny3:
