Just look at a certain pop star who has a movie coming out, she was big enough to make her own label but signed with Universal anyways because some things are just handled better under a label. We would actually get clear singles that are sent to radio, we would get properly stocked vinyls and much more high quality merch (like why were the pose boxes not an actual new album cover and just an iron on tshirt). She could easily get a huge upfront paycheck, expenses paid for, and the focus would be on HER because she's one of the biggest stars in the world.

These are the people I feel the most sorry for, imagine putting in that many hours for her to shelve it or not give it any promo and let it flop in the abyss of promising projects of hers after months of work :rip:

2013:

"I started my own company when I decided to manage myself. It was important that I didn't go to some big management company, I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire, and show other women when you get to this point in your career you don't have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success—you do it yourself."

2021:

"I took control of my independence at 27 and started Parkwood Entertainment. At the time, there wasn’t a company that did what I needed it to do or ran the way I wanted it run. So, I created this multipurpose badass conglomerate that was a creative agency, record label, production company, and management company to produce and work on projects that meant the most to me. I wanted to manage myself and have a company that put art and creativity first."

I don't really see her dissolving a decade of work just so that we can get more album covers and better quality t-shirts or single sent to radio which does NOT take a major label to do. She seems pretty content with how she's doing things, otherwise she would not be doing them. In this scenario she'd either have to give up her total creative freedom (would she do that just to be under a big label when she already works with Columbia?) OR find a deal giving her complete control, but wouldn't that just get her back to where she was with Parkwood, but with less ownership and splitting the profits with a corporation?

Exactly.

And people are acting like it was Beyoncé on the phone making all these dumb af bookings, sewing the shitty merch and pressing the vinyls herself like she doesn't have a team full of dumbasses making these stupid decisions. :dies:

Those bookings were the only ones available. Same with Italy not being available... you guys don't actually think her team are literally lowballing her??

They already had up to 6 Tottenham dates pencilled before the tour were announced (my friend works for the stadium). They obviously would of gone for Wembley and taken the same money with half the dates, unless they couldn't or for other financial reasons, all with Bey giving the green loght. Probably again comimg back to Bey not being ready as early as others artists/events that were booked

what has she contradicted though?

Well, the last page you mentioned that she implied that she wanted to let the music speak for itself. And yet:

-BMS being pushed on radio, BMS (Hive Certified Video), remixes for BMS, Cuff It, AHAP, Visualizers, Cliquebait teasers, lyric videos

-A clothing line with pieces dedicated to each song off the album

-People from her team implying a traditional rollout

-If we’re going by the article’s timeline, we would have gotten a few videos traditionally but instead we’re getting a whole film again, but she doesn’t want to release it without a streaming service paying her the amount she desires.

Does she want to be an artist who just drops something, let’s it perform on its own, do nothing, and have doubts that it will do well? Or is she the parkwood exec who wants to ensure a profit is being made by pushing the songs, keeping the album stable, and making sure she gets her moneys worth from these visuals (despite already making a huge amount from box sets, album sales, tour sales, and Dubai)? What does she want? Because as fans it just feels confusing.

I was merely making a joke though in the original post and I don’t care THAT much anyways, but that’s just how it seems to me

To be fair #that popstar has a lot of her own in house team. Like Bey she is also managed by "herself", but even unlike Bey she has her own touring company and doesn't use LiveNation.

I don't think Parkwood/its employees as a whole should get all the blame. Bey has hired some top tier execs there, and yet the output is still a mess. At the end of the day it depends on Bey's professional energy. Is she receptive of people telling her when an idea isn't good or does she label them as haters who just don't see her vision? I can see her doing the latter because of how much gold she struck with ST, which was obviously against every execs wishes, convincing her that every idea she has is golden and anyone who says other wise is trying to limit her growth.

if she’s doing TG/BIK strategy 2.0 she might as well release a Renaissance Deluxe along with the visuals

I totally forgot she did that for TG so might as well just stuff in the remixes, Loop The Sample & maybe even an extended version of something :jonny6:

Parkwood employees get paid a yearly salary, they got paid for the same amount of work they did during COVID as they are now, why would they go out of their way or go above and beyond for this hag?

The checks are clearing, no need to push her. Just smile and wave, let her think she’s elusive and let the money come in. Great gig actually.

Is that not just the screens they use to show ads around the stadium?

Is it? I didn’t recognize it cuz I’m used to seeing ads on them. Welp they just gave me an idea that bey should use regardless :gaycat5:

my sources tell me there is a deluxe album coming. She’s calling it the Chrome edition. The cover is the tour picture but with a silvery background instead of the black. Cuff It remix, AHAP remix and BMS remix will all be included and 5 other tracks (remixes and new songs.) Karol G is one of the featured artists. The album will come with a DVD of the visuals like Self Titled. But keep in mind that my sources are the voices in my head.

We are really yanking Parkwood/Beyonce's scalp. AND THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING ABOUT IT IS THAT THEY WON'T EVER GET TO SEE WHAT FANS THINK.

Yes, and those writers/producers on Virgos Groove, who had that magazine article that was later redacted :lmao:

The topic of music speaking for itself is relative to the use of visuals. Any sort of promotion of the music, remixes, visualizer (which is just animated image on a loop) doesn't speak for the music in anyway shape or form, it's only widening the reach and that press release did not say "we will never promote it, the music will promote itself".

I highly doubt seeing the CUFF IT cover spin around in circles in a visualizer told anyone anything about the song than they already knew. A lyric video is literally music speaking for itself. The Hive Certified BMS video, months after the song was released was a celebration that exemplifies people's connection to the song (ie, how the music spoke for itself). The only thing that undermines the "music first" is the ITG teaser, which stops after about a minute to let the music (and the rest of the album) continue to speak for itself.

The Balmain line also doesn't speak for the music. I can't really understand how it would. It's clothing inspired by the songs and probably no one understood the record more after seeing it. It's the other way around. To understand the clothing you must understand the music.

Implying it's a traditional rollout while indeed having elements of a traditional rollout (no surprise releases, advance announcements and first single) doesn't sound like contradiction either.

I also would presume that the visuals' "money's worth" is as much getting the expenses covered as is it factoring in the potential worth of the piece as a whole. Art is often greater than the sum of its parts. An artist can splash $3 of paint on a canvas, but if that artist has the cultural caché and is understood to be conceptually genius, they can charge $3,000,000 so being offered $30,000 is going to seem like the buyer doesn't value their artistry/perspective/etc.

I see you said it was a joke so I apologize for taking it too seriously, but to me Beyoncé seems pretty consistent in practicing what she preaches (through her practices).

This!!! I would rather get Rosalia before Karol G:rip: Karol’s music is mostly generic garbage.
