Didn’t someone mention before the first show that she’d be her own opening act and that she was treating EU like it’s rehearsal? And that she’d have real opening acts for the states.  If that’s real, that probably means she’s waiting to heal and ITG is the true opener for the states? I kinda hope so, but I wouldn’t mind DIL even though it’s anti-climatic.

Tbh I rather her continue this pre-show opening for the rest of the tour. I can’t wait to see the sunset visuals into REN transition in an open roof stadium.

The tour will probably be over by the time she’s fully healed . I mean, it’s been 4 months since her Dubai concert. I think the problem I have with this concert is that she would hype you up so much, then she gives you nothing  like when she would tells you to dance but she wouldn’t even move away from the spot she started the song at…..

It is ridiculous how she currently is not performing her biggest hit anywhere. IDC what Hive says, Halo is a staple and deserves a permanent setlist. Imagine paying to see an MJ show and he doesn't do Billie Jean  The complains over it being "tired" don't even make sense as it wasn't in Beychella nor OTR II.

 

I Care is something that is tired. It had its moment during Beychella and OTR II but it doesn't deserve to still take up a spot considering it isn't a widely known song. Flaws and All was a good "hidden gem pick", though there are better choices for that spot that she can eventually rotate (we want OTHERSIDE )

 

Side note: Rather Die Young can LEAVE the main show. It's so random 

This! Get rid of Rather Die Young and give Sweet Dreams is proper due and extend Naughty Girl. She’s really snubbing Sasha Fierce apart from tired ass Diva and that little limp of Sweet Dreams. 
 

Listen would be so welcome, especially with her voice now. 1+1 is meh. I’m surprised she didn’t find a way to incorporate Halo with those cloudy visuals. 

yeah I think my one issue with the tour so far is that she is not using the whole stage well. I expected her to do more on the Club Renny stage and the bigger circle. instead all of Renaissance songs are happening on the main stage save for BMS and AUIYM (which she does with her back turned to the stadium).

 

I think the circle having two sets of stairs at the Club Renny entry points is to blame for it, it's kinda unfortunate.

Yeah after all the takeaways, my biggest and only serious complaint is the lack of the club rena circle. There should be dancers on that circle a lot more, I feel like more dancers in general would be nice too, a stadium show needs spectacle.

That stage does need more spectacle.. be serious 

 

OT: I definitely feel like she should change up the opening set list. Get rid of everything except DIL, the gp/casual listeners don’t know the other songs. She needs throw hits in there, IIWAB, BTINH ( y’all can hate it all you want, but it saved the 4 era along with LOT) and halo! 

She does need to bring Halo back! The streams will explode!

I think they also mentioned she got injured again during rehearsals. 
 

Mother was probably doing a death drop during the Rennie release and that knee popped.

I think she is tired of it lol. I would rather see her do Survivor/I will Survive cover . I feel like there’s more recognizability to DC music than some of the album tracks like Flaws and All and Rather die Young which I love .

It’s weird how a show like Swarm is made to show how unhinged the Hive are but it’s like… we don’t even have a parasocial relationship with Bey like that?  We just stan the art and excellence while certain others are making their faves 10 break ups personal to them (tbf she encourages it for PR and incorporates her personal life into her music), also making picket signs of exes, printed photos of her dead granny. The Hive ain’t even cult-like compared to these other stans.

The way the GP went back to picking up the album after one single show in Stockholm. 

 

She can work put the kinks from the first 2 shows and really put on for Brussels and the UK. This is so exciting. Finally. Bey is putting on a a great show and I love how she thanked the fans and slightly hinted that she knows it's been a rough era. I assume she will explain why in a documentary maybe.

Donald probably knew he would be cancelled if he made a show about that fanbase though... BeyHive can take a joke & a nuanced cultural commentary. I imagine the "most shamed woman" who blasted a Netflix show for using her name in a joke wouldn't be cool with it.

The Hive has their share of crazies like that time during the NBA game where that woman was talking to Jay.  But at the same time Bey got hate from the yts for having a certain expression and the haters also have some weird obsession of hating on her, and the Hive defended her as they should.

yes I think some people also walk a super thin line between "being parasocial besties" with her and trying to "be her." kinda like what you said about her dead grandma, like she is not your grandma regardless of how many times you listened to that song. Blue Ivy is not our sister or daughter and we know it, lol.

 

all fanbases have crazy people obviously, but the perception that BeyHive is somehow the craziest and cultiest of them all never sits right with me. it always felt like the demographic makeup of the fandom influenced yt people's perception.

She should open with Stand Up For Love.

I actually agree with some points here but I don't get why Flaws & All would stay and 1+1 get the boot. 1+1 is at least a classic in the RnB community. F&A is random and is really not a striking song at all. 

 

I just feel like All Night, Otherside (as you point out), Daddy Lessons needed to shine, even if not necessarily at the beginning. 

 

I agree that it's weird that Halo and SL are not included. I wouldn't even mind her adding BTINH (but just in the UK). But please no IIWAB, it has no redeeming quality. And is it even that known among her classics? 

Sweet Dreams needed a real moment too. But I understand, she has 14 songs from Renaissance alone so it's difficult. 

 

What I find properly wrong however are those 3 songs somewhere in the middle that I don't know : the Lift Off thing and The Carters' songs. Ch... 

 

But the setlist is clearly not changing so it's whatever. The show might be more enjoyable for me without Halo, IIWAB and BTINH but I get the points that the stadiums are not filled just with us.

Energy, AHAP, ITG, Cozy, Summer Reneigh all should hit 100M or at least the last 3 be very close. Church Girl will get close to 90M. Great that half the album will be above 100M, which means that the album is listened to in its entirety and not the bulk of 1 or 2 singles.

Wasn’t IIWAB a huge hit in Europe? It’s a bad song, but she absolutely kills it live. And the transition from you oughta know back to boy can make me climax. That performance would be a showstopper in a stadium now that I think about it
