I hate this box she’s painted herself into…it’s really not sustainable imo. Her work is getting more polarizing and, whether die hards want to admit it or not, her cultural cachet IS on the decline. It’s still plentiful but you’d have to be truly delusional to not see it.

This tour can’t start off ‘meh’ like OTRII.

if she serves Dubai 2.0, I think we might be in for the Hive disappearing altogether.

I agree with the people who complain, but I also think its a bit silly to be all negative now simply because we have the tour in a week anyway

Some people act like she's the first mother in history to have a job :deadbanana4:

Let's not act like she's so put out. She finds time to do an entire collection with Olivier and found the time to work on Ivy Park only for it to flop but all we've gotten is cheaply made t-shirts this era. She managed to perform at a super exclusive show in Dubai that must have taken quite a lot of her time and energy but couldn't at least sit down and sing Plastic Off the Sofa at the GRAMMYs for the fans who made the album a success.

Which, again! Her prerogative. But people are allowed to be upset about it.

Thank you. So obnoxious. And I say this as a woman who kinda understands some of the things Bey did as a married woman and mother.  But she has way more resources to do what she wants. The twins are not infants. Blue is being seen at games and concerts, more than her mama. It literally ages and does a disservice to Bey. She is not a robot or prisioner to her familial obligations. This lady throws parties all the time. Has plenty of pics in her phone that she chooses when to post but doesn't.

thank God the tour is beginning because this era is disastrously bad

I enjoyed the Tiffany's campaign and do pay attention to the brand more. But I thought Summer Renaissance would be better integrated. And was there ever a followup? I feel like the campaign with Jay was way more supported. And that's more of my frustration. Why treat your solo endeavors like trash but give more effort when that man is involved?

Ivy Park was a mess. She literally expected people to buy Ivy Topia with the album boxes and Ivy Park Trail with the tour tickets. Are you serious? After you wasted folks time you want people to save the brand from flopping? It was giving cash grab and she was silly to think people would choose IVP over the music.

I do feel like she should have done more teasers but I'm glad she didn't perform new songs during Dubai.

:biblio::biblio::biblio:

You can feel the beyhidration is hitting us hard...

I've almost read everything in these last pages and you managed to make me MAD at Beyoncé, and STRESSED about the quality of the tour! :gaycat6:

Yes. She is a human being outside of having a husband and kids. And I'm over yall playing obtuse everytime THAT man is mentioned casually. You don't have to like him just because Bey likes to be up under him and let her own mess flop. And I take up for Jay when his credibility as a rapper and father is questioned all the time

The things i have read about beyonce in the last 10 pages...HIVE really is the worst. The 73738483 narratives you all have attached to this woman is psychotic.

its quite interesting to see her lose favor every year, bit by bit, since 2016/17... kind of sad to see an artist as great as beyonce do this to her own career, but i agree with most takes here: her behavior does not work in the 21st century. its gonna backfire more and more and soon people will start to take away all of her accomplishments. its happened to others before (janet for instance), it'll happen to her as well, especially when you are so outright capitalist in our current day and age

All of this. And that Dubai performance didn't just appear out of nowhere, I'm sure it took months of planning and rehearsal, during which her fans were begging for her to do at least SOMETHING, she was focused on putting on a show for billionaires. And now the fans can only see her perform if they pay money. So she is not just sitting at home enjoying her life as a mother, "focused on things that matter" or whatever. She is doing stuff, but only when it benefits her greatly e.g. Tiffany, Dubai, RWT. And, as a diehard stan, it's upsetting to see that's where we are at with her these days.

And I am sure for most of us this is not about her not attending the Met Gala. Who cares about that. It's just the Met Gala is the culmination of everything that has(n't) happened in the past 9 months. That's why this thread grew like 20 pages.

We're in an era of voracious consumption and fan entitlement, so her approach is jarring, I get it, but she has been very clear for literally years at this point that anything she does going forward will be on her own terms. Her terms will come with positives and negatives, and she's the one who has to bear the consequences of that. She literally watched her biggest idols (and some of her peers) go mad with fame or die way too young, so she's keeping a distance between herself and whatever she perceives to be a threat to her peace of mind. I just don't get why it's taking so long for people to grasp the reality. This is the new normal, so it's time to either accept it or divest. I'm not happy with seeing less of her, but I'm not about to lose my mind over it either.

Looking back at it, Dubai was a mistake.

Why? She is all about money. :skull:

The only thing I don't like is her not actually touring there now. If she can go for a private gig like that, she should for her fans too, but she won't. Maybe live nation make that decision though?

idk, as a member of vocal hive, it gave me everything I wanted. And as someone from the middle east, I received a great deal of satisfaction from seeing queer arabs telling clueless westerners to mind their business  :fan:

I feel like 2013-2020 was the "new normal", which I completely accepted, since she has been doing this for a while and also became a mother of 3 children. Things were bound to change. But this is the "new new normal". This era is really an uncharted territory for all of us, that's why it's so jarring to see and the fans really don't know what to make out of all of this.

If the clues are correct, and I don't see why they wouldn't be, she's pacing herself for a 3-album run. We will be able to best judge this era when it's all over.

I was re-watching LIBAD and it's all there tbh. She doesn't want to never be satisfied, she doesn't want to chase success, she finds it stressful and crippling, and she's constantly struggling between her own needs and being generous to her fans. I guess she came to the conclusion that the generosity is a luxury that can be sacrificed :cm:

Which RWT shows did everyone get tickets to? I will be at these shows: 7/12 - Philly, 7/29 - East Rutherford/NYC, & 9/4 - LA.

It would be dope to meet anyone attending the same shows.
