I think the problem is it being wholly a random single selection with no artistic voice or ambition. Even if you take the I Am side it's just a random selection of ballads. The music is solid but some songs like Broken Hearted Girl are such generic filler.

 

Disappear deserved to be a single. Also platinum edition of the album was such a missed opportunity, it could of a proper pop collab with Gaga instead of videophone, stop sign and some other shop bought banger  

 

 

IASF has some underrated songs here and there, but I just can't get past that sterile 2008'd production (seriously, why did almost every pop album from that era sound so terrible? ) or how toned down her vocals sound. Give me B'Day or 4 anytime.

Has smash into you ever been mashed up with with or without you by u2. Regardless, she should cover the latter

the accuracy is palpable. thank you. 

IASF is her weakest album production-wise. I love the era because it established her as one of the most beloved popstars around the world (specially here in brazil), but there's no depth to the instrumentals (aside from a few tracks). even b'day is far from a utter polished album, but the untamed bravery of her attitude, vocals and the catchiness of every single chorus is undeniable.
