Not surprising at all, but God, I can’t wait to see the numbers. I can’t wait to see whether she can pull off multiple weeks. I haven’t been this excited for a new artist in so long.

So wait, will she be youngest recipient of artists whose debut album and debut single debuted at #1?! Also, who is the youngest recipient with both?

But good 4 u is gonna debut at #1 this week and the album debuts next week. Do they mean in general and not in the same week?

We've been knew. Just wanna see how high she can go.

Edit: She won't be, but she'll be the youngest since Britney.

Britney didn’t debut at #1 on the Hot 100 until very late in her career. I think the current record is held by Justin Bieber. He was ~21 when what do you mean? debuted at #1 and then purpose debuted at #1

Yeah, I realized I got it mixed up. I meant both their debut album and debut single- Zayn and Lauryn Hill, for example- debuting atop the Hot100 and BB200. I'm currently researching, but it looks like it's Zayn. And no, it's not Bieber because his debut single did not debut (let alone peak) at 1. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, I think they mean in general. When you look at #1 debuts for singles, she’s already the youngest, with DL.

The wording in the tweet is awful because I think they mean debuting at #1 in general, not just their debut singles  If they are referring strictly to debut singles and debut albums it’s Zayn (he was 23). If they mean albums and singles in general it’s Justin (he was 21). In either case, Olivia is breaking the record

Right? I'm editing like crazy to make sure I've worded my own response correctly, but you're correct about Bieber holding the title as the youngest (so far) recipient of debuting atop both the Hot 100 (WDYM?) and BB200 (Purpose). Crazy how she just came out the gate with her debut single and debut album.

she did have a bit of a head start to be fair. Billie as well. Artists like Taylor (and imo Gaga/beyonce) did have label support but had to work in a different kind of way to establish themselves. Olivia had a very notable headstart.
