Music fans are mourning the loss of Aretha Franklin and taking solace in her extraordinary musical legacy.

Could the surge in marketplace activity make Aretha a candidate for a posthumous #1 chart week? Stay tuned.

At iTunes, her 30 Greatest Hits (via Rhino) is #1, while the gospel set Amazing Grace (also Rhino) is Top 5 and the comps Queen of Soul (Warner U.K.), Soul Queen (Rhino) and Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics (RCA) are all in the Top 10.

Aretha got her free Tidal download, listened to Sir and then decided it was time to die just to put Nicki in her place. Cackling, but also sad at Shaderetha making her final appearance.

Streaming wouldn't even count for the GH albums, would it?

Yeah, someone said it would. It would depend on which album is selling the most or something.

If she does, whomever makes the thread better make it 'Queen #1 on Billboard 200'. :eli:

Seems click bait but would be a thrilling finale to this week.

If this happens it’s the second time an artist I like got blocked by an artist die. At least Nicki will get overtaken by the queen of soul

poor xtina got a lower position because of that trash ass rapper

She ain't doing 150k+ in 12 hours. Did even MJ and Whitney do that much in 12 hours?

Too far, Pattie

Don’t think so. She has so many albums so her sales are gonna get split amongst most of them. I think she will get #2, if anything, with the 30GH compilation.

and this is obviously for next week, y’all. Nicki and Travis will be in the top two this week.

I don't think she'll block Nicki but if she did it would be kinda ironic since there's a line on Queen that says: "Miss Aretha, I think I just passed her"

Isn't today the last day for the tracking period?

She might be #1  for next week but only 1 day of sales isn't going to be enough.

that said, may she rest in power.

She can get the #1 next week... The article doesn't mention any date...
