Oh, I definitely don't think everyone is uninterested in exploring new stuff. That's been the whole goal with LOJ and the International Madonnas! I'm just not entirely sure personally if kd lang and the Indigo Girls is the way to go, or the R&B girl groups without at least some of the big hitters to lure some stragglers in, you know?

Technically I also only referred to the '99 one specifically as a hard sell because it kind of doesn't have the same name power as the '97 one does... Faith might have the Shania effect, but even more so! And Macy is... Macy. I'm sure it would still do reasonably fine

Maybe I'm still working through some unresolved trauma from that damn Elton rate...

Conversely, I think that R&B rate would pull in others that haven't participated yet - like @Kool_Aid_King or @Devin or @Kiss It Better or my best sis @BnPac! Promo works! @Armani. would be all over it!

Compromise - let us keep EV and SWV and just throw out DC and TLC? Just US R&B groups to keep it simple and just '90s stuff? You still down with that @Graves?

En Vogue, SWV, Blaque, Brownstone, Jade, Total, Xscape, Zhané, 702, Allure, Assorted Phlavors, The Braxtons, Changing Faces, Divine, Drama, Ebony Vibe Everlasting, Ex-Girlfriend, For Real, Jamaica London, Kut Klose, MoKenStef, Nuttin' Nyce, Phajja, Sa-Deuce, Shades, Terri & Monica, Tha Truth, Willie Max, 4Kast, 7669... Who am I missing?

I still feel like En Vogue is a little too big? Like, how I measure it is: a) could they get into the RRHOF? and b) would they get an episode of Behind The Music (VH1, mainstream) or an episode of Unsung (TV One, strictly for the black audience?) En Vogue would be on the former for both; every other group you've named would DEFINITELY be the latter.

En Vogue covered Rolling Stone! Were on SNL twice! So that's my hesitation with that. Let's create a space for the Honeyz of the world!

See, look at that- totally forgot Total! Let's make space for the Other Girls of girl groups! (See that - a tie-in! Look at G*d!)

So all of those except En Vogue (who I don't think I've ever actually had the chance to rate in a rate...)? I feel like British R&B girl groups could be its own separate thing and that's obviously where Honeyz can go. :ryan3:

Girl how many UK R&B groups are there - especially if you ignore the Bennett sisters! Cram them in!

And, an album thing, but a Funky Divas/Very Necessary/crazysexycool/TWOTW rate would be SEXY. Just saying!

@Graves?

Swap out Very Necessary for It's About Time (nothing against SNP, but... you know!) and now we're talking.

It's a shame that you can't do a British version of that, as most of them don't have the ONE album that stands out.

Like a Spice/One Touch/Tangled Up/Glory Days rate could be something (The Saints didn't start making good albums into 20 years in...)

I still want to rate Toni sometime soon though... can we approve a singles rate for down the line? Or if Ace wants mess and irrelevance, we can copy Popjustice and do a Braxton Family Rate for the whole gang of them.

Don't do that. The first year of Lilith Fair had Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Fiona Apple, Tracy Chapman, Suzanne Vega, Joan Osborne, Meredith Brooks, Shawn Colvin, Lisa Loeb and the Cardigans among the headliners. If you can't sell that, then I don't know, man.

Well that would obviously be an easier sell than Lesbians: The Rate :biblio:

That omission was intentional :suburban:

I also can't remember which ones we were holding on to to put in other rates but in terms of more modern ideas I do think a rate of The BPM vs. Eusexua vs. Fancy That vs. Lifetime vs. Through the Wall would eat

EDIT: Forgot the Amaarae album I guess.

You've been trying to make sis happen for a long time now and I think we need to give her a chance!!

Winner: No Doubt - "Hella Good" :1stplace:

@Ace Reject Would I be able to start Rodney Jerkins "Darkchild" next week?

Keep her winning streak up by taking part in this one too.
