Cardigan

I’m glad that BYG and Supalonely are doing well but they feel so ancient, even by pop radio’s slow standards

So disappointing. It's actually a good song for her standards, given the singles she's been known to released. Guess almost 8 years of radio duds just can't be erased. Tragic.

Terrible callout scores, lack of interest in America etc.

Radio not supporting ROM is absolutely ridiculous. It went #1, it had great streaming numbers for a long time, Ari is a radio darling. There's absolutely no excuse. To drop it because of bad callouts, when the GP was clearly receptive to the song from the beginning... Pop radio is an absolute joke nowadays.

I mean that's how they see which songs their audience responds to? If the callouts/other metrics are bad, then why wouldn't they go by that? They're not gonna play a song a significant part of their audience doesn't like because it was propelled by fans to #1 for one week? It's not in the Top 50 on Spotify either anymore, so it's clear it's a song that ran out of juice very quickly. It happens.

there is nothing ridiculous about radio stopping playing a song that has awful reception from its listeners, other than your reaction

Right nn can we stop this “ROM is falling on Pop because Interscope pulled it nonsense” when it’s been stalling for weeks.

I feel like its performance on radio was actually better than expected though? It got to the top 10 on pop and didn't free fall after a few weeks like Stupid Love. Also did better than Ariana's single with Bieber who is definitely a bigger star than Gaga at this point.
