yeah I don't believe there is such a thing as "pull a single from radio", as tons of stans say. Especially considering we have examples of artists having two songs smashing at the same time (Harry Styles most recently).

 

if anything, label stop promoting/investing money on a song, but it's radio will to stop playing, playing it a bit less or keep going.

Adam Levine: 41 years old, serves the same basic filler trash pop every single. Multiple top tens on radio.

 

Gaga: 34 years old, actually serving quality music that's different from what's being played right now, struggling to get airplay.

 

And that's why radio should stop counting for the charts. It's sexist and ageist and not at all reflective of what people are actually listening to.
