Make a 12 track 'The Essentials' type album for Taylor Swift
Make a Taylor compilation album that isnt a Greatest Hits but showcases more of who Taylor is as an artist and the best of her work. I feel like key album tracks are important to be included beyond the singles Our Song (showcases her pure country but strong melodic sensibilities) Love Story (pop country crossover) Enchanted (big lovey dovey ballad) State of Grace (her rock influences) All Too Well (nothing more to be said) Style (pop perfection) New Romantics (pop perfection #2) I Did Something Bad (taylor at her most maximalist) Cruel Summer (this song could basically fit in the sound of Midnights and is also pop perfection #3) august (atmospheric indie pop) right where you left me (encapsulates all her strengths as a songwriter imo) The Fate of Ophelia (thee Taylor smash hit)

Hey, kids! 1 billion is FUN! “ME!” by Taylor hits 1 billion streams on Spotify
The rollout was such a kii The butterfly mural in Nashville. Her hinting pastel everything months prior in IG and the NYC Times Square Billboards only to be hit with a terrible quality control drag with that 'spelling is fun' 😭 I truly dont know why no one ever told her it was too juvenile even for a fun bop. Stay Stay Stay could never Anyways still a smasha! Lover is such a smash album omg time the truth teller truly

Which MPGs give the most obvious writing camp energy?
rihanna. you could always tell.

Tate McRae - "Housewife"
She truly leans into the popstar of it all. Theres something so generic (IN A GOOD WAY) but attractive about her as a popstar. Shes like the amalgamation of every traditional popstar shtick you can think of but with the added depth and reward if you decide to be a stan of confessional Taylor-esque lyricism. LOVE HER!!! SCTW shouldve been thee pop era of 2024!

Is Olivia Rodrigo's third era cementing her in the longevity game?
Im genuinely not kidding when I say 600-800k is in the ballpark for her next era when she comes back, the amount of GP goodwill and fanbase loyalty this record brought her is enough to sustain a mainstream career for at least another decade. The Cure and stupid song are both slow burner big hits that I think will end up being her bigger singles

Olivia charts 11 songs on the Hot 100 this week, four months after album release
real AOTY worthy.

Dua Lipa. Somehow she's still around, but ATRL keeps downplaying her
she's i think what each and every tryhard socialite who attempts a music career dreams of being tbh. her brand ever since post-FN has been of this conscious cultured modern woman who clearly enjoys making fun pop. i think part of her appeal is the GP knows she's not making deep insightful music but making fun radio pop, and they're clearly on board. the celebrity brand elevates it imo

Dua Lipa. Somehow she's still around, but ATRL keeps downplaying her
ive been saying for years, she has the best positive traits of katy and rihanna in one. the most unique vocal color in pop since ariana, if dua sings it, you KNOW its her, no one else (rihanna). she makes fun, accessible but seriously high caliber production bangers (katy at her prime), she's sexy as f*ck and has that untouchable cool factor about her (rihanna), has consolidated a genuinely solid touring audience and power (katy, u can say what u want about her but the lifetimes tour has no business being that big). she's also big as a neutral to positive force as a celebrity, you either find dua hot or hear about her political stances and her being this 'cultured' socialite, she's never really made a public stance or action that's made her distasteful to both stan culture and the general public, making her genuinely likable. the 'girl give us nothing' narrative also creates a baseline that elevates her rise in skill as a stage performer and talent to even further heights (growth as a performer is crazy). had she been this competent already from the getgo in 2015 as a live singer it wouldn't be as impressive, but her early string of bad performances make her so much more impressive because there's a comparison to be made. not only that but dua is one of the few popgirls where no one, not even the gays on popbase have really a lot to say about her vocal ability. you'll probably get one 'dua bad vocals' comment in a 100,000 positive comments. because above all else, she's a competent singer with flairs and ebbs and flows of greatness like her royal albert hall live performance and her random amazing covers. she also minds her own business and just uses social media to promote and post her hot girl sh*t, that's it. again, it boils down to this, the world either wants to be WITH dua lipa or BE dua lipa. that's why she's still here more than 10 years later! stream smashing season!
- Showgirl becomes the first album by a woman to produce 3 #1s since 1989
- Billboard counts Taylor's deluxe #1, but not Katy's

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
The way I was right FAGsil youll always be a hit!!!
- MILEY's "Flowers" hits 3 billion streams on Spotify

YSPSFAGSIL to chart 10 songs on Hot 100 four months after release. What went right?
her narrative as a public figure makes the most sense amongst the major popstars. she vacillates just enough between the celebrity socialite and the musician artist pendulum to be believable and lovable. the biggest popstar of her generation by far.
- "Espresso" becomes the longest-charting 2020s female song on Spotify Global
- Who's your fave in Soulidified?

Soulidified - "Man Ain't Me"
Yall im a grown ass professional but im geeking out over this group i love all of them downnnE But after just barely a few clicks on tiktok i found out that bradley dude is dating a trumpie from florida whos made genuinely transphobic tiktoks 2 genders only type nonsense. Universally panned popgirl singles you actually love and think is pop perfection?
Before Witness, Bionic was always termed by pop culture fans as thee 'flop' pop album but I've never cared for nor bothered listening to any work from that album. However, this year when I heard Not Myself Tonight for the first time, the lead single off of the said album Bionic, I'm so confused by how much people hated this record, its such a BOP! When that DJ guy goes '1234!' in that autotune voice and leads to the bridge, its SO GOOD and hype! I love that its so unapologetically dance/electro pop. Such a banger lead I wish the reception to this was away from the Gaga comparisons! Loved this so much!

Soulidified - "Man Ain't Me"
i love that the quartet has a niche to appeal to each. malik and landon have to be my favessss such good vocalists and they're so hot omggg, malik and landon are easily the visuals. im feeling the parasocial feelings i used to have with 5sos in the early 10s omg im of the opinion that in the year of our Lord 2026 one of them coming out would boost their career actually and solidify their female and gay audience. their voices are SOOOOO good, this is such a bop!!! edit: i love that the bf x gf in the video are clearly the objects of affection, they WANT the man and the woman i love it!

The Tortured Poets Department, 2.5 years later. Thoughts?
I kinda felt it was bloated at first but in hindsight, this was Taylor at her deepest lore wise, the main album was actually really tight and good, the Anthology however has so many hits and misses. I get why its not public friendly as a record but I think this album solidified her core audience further as she has aged, its absolutely a fan favorite for a reason. Its a very mature take on her Swiftian way of writing. Her breakup, her more sensual desires, having to tamper her pain in the name of being the showgirl, obsession with her haters, being wronged, all basically heightened versions of her younger ways of writing. Fortnight is probably my favorite lead single of hers, how sad yet catchy the entire lead melody is, that pulsing bass synth creates the entire song for me. What a wonderfully sad song! But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty as Sin?, Florida!!!, Down Bad, So Long London, Fortnight, The Prophecy, imgonnagetyouback, So High School are all career highlights!

The Life of a Showgirl about to surpass Teenage Dream record for most top 5s. Shook?
What a bad faith thread lol we all know the charts are misrepresenting popularity in a lot of ways this isnt a gotcha to Taylor nor Katy In good faith the only time Taylor ever came close to actually beating TD was 1989 but even then shes washed by the first 3 singles of TD alone. The first 5 singles and now even the 6th with TOTGA being one of the biggest 2026 solo female hits are easily on par with Shake it Off and Blank Space for commercial and cultural cache. I do wish Showgirl wouldve been her attempting an actual full singles rollout again a la 1989 but outside the first 2 singles its been a disappointment, Patient Zero's MV absolutely elevated the song for me but its still a few steps down from the pop perfections that were Ophelia and Opalite.
- Rihanna has 8 songs on Spotify's Global 200, Taylor 7, Olivia R 6, Gaga 4, Ariana 4
