I feel like indie pop/rock and more guitar centered music has been on the rise. Sombr has had a lot of success already, Malcolm Todd has been on the rise, Domenic Fike is having a breakthrough with "babydoll", with other artists like Steve Lacy,Omar Apollo, and Mk.gee having a similar sound and have all been on the rise. Justin Bieber's latest albums and songs like "daisies" also have that sound, not to mention Charli just released a "rock" influenced album and many predict Beyoncé's upcoming album will follow the trend as well.

I would say Beyonce, as she's the only one who the media and publications condition the public to believe they're supposed to like, or there's something wrong with them. That's why unless it's made up to push a narrative, nothing she does is actually controversial, risky, or polarizing. People feel like they're allowed to not like artists like Rihanna or Taylor, whereas Beyonce is off limits.

At least Taylor has spoken out against Trump in the past. Beyonce has never spoken out against him at all, dined with his family, and paraded around with an American flag for a year and yet no one ever accuses her of being MAGA.

That would be very unfortunate and I hope that's not the case, but if he has any sort of team or manager giving him advice, surely they would/do communicate that at this point it would even be good for his career. That's why there is so much queer-baiting from straight artists, because it's pretty common knowledge that an artist can have a long-term, sustainable career, with the support of gay fans. And yeah, It could also be rooted in religion/family, but unlike many in that situation, he can completely support himself for life without a single family member. He's also been removed from that lifestyle for 10+ years now. I also think if it was that deep of a struggle or worry for him, he wouldn't have felt comfortable making the statement about "figuring it out".
