In the streaming era most people don't consume full albums. Shorter albums have higher replay value most long album are hard to come back to unless real genre experimentation warrants a slower runtime. With, folklore on early listens i couldn't stay awake past epiphany. But, peace save the back half from monotony. Wheras, Cowboy Carter is similary overlong but, the kind of interchangeable stuff on the back half has more sonic diversions to stay engaged.

She comes across as a bit abrasive that mixed with swiftie level devotees for a fanbase would always be a disaster.

Autobiographical as trend will fade for more stream of consiousness or impressionistic writing. Taylor Swift music only works as she plays a character like Dylan abstracted from it even now her persona is starting to eat it own tail like on Showgirl.

His songwriting is to vague and non-descript to pull off an vibey dance album. And, his voice here start to teter into the Coldplay/Ed Sheeran territory. I see the effort but, without the dynamic element production especially the drumming its too safe.

For the new leg since it's a bit rebranded I hope she revamps the set list abit maybe more mash ups to fit the spilled tracks e.g traitor x scared of my guitar. Seems like delayed OR3 she was writing on tour so it could happen just with other collaborators since Dan is doing CR2. New album will be weird to write probably will have more storytelling.

It seems like she's doing a festival run supporting GUTS alongside, Lollapalooza hoping she does Glastonbury and Newport Folk Festival.

GUTS is of the zeitgeist regardless of sales not all popular albums will have that legacy. Shown as her arena tour is both a cultural and sales force. GUTS era is also just a market overcorrection for the SOUR anomaly. Even the aesthetic and marketing she has a clear Olivia Rodrigo sound and brand which will help in the long-term. She doesn't need to have a sellout era anytime soon it would be smarter to preferably strip down her sound to lean into more maturity.

So American is low-key her best upbeat song and my song of the summer. It's interesting every late addition to the album e.g. LIE is this new wave sound I wonder if she does more I need some heartland rock and baroque pop.
