NRO and Small Bomb had a pretty similar aesthetic, and HIH is closer to them than to Smile. Screams scrapped direction to me (which is not an insult, I actually think she was heading in a great direction). Either way my point still stands, they were clearly not intended to be on Smile, with Daisies being the official 1st single. If you remove DWAS, get rid of those droplets as well, and let's see the fairest comparison.

The thing about Smile is pretty similar as the scenario y'all love to paint with Mayhem. If you remove 2 singles that were desperately tucked into the album (with no cohesion whatsoever, because they were part of a much more interesting scrapped album (I LOVE NRO), and had the streams that none of the actual Smile tracks had, with the BOMBING of LEAD single Daisies), you get the actual stats of Smile the intended album, and you can compare them now with Mayhem the alleged intended album without DWAS. NRO was a decent hit, HIH has turned into one, the OG Smile is a BOMB DWAS is a historical hit, the OG Mayhem is a more than decent hit That would be the fair comparison with the usual excuses of removing "desperate hit additions"

Mind you Abracadabra, Disease and most of the album are dated noisy pop that nobody should be touching these days... Meanwhile, country is at the top of the BB100 breaking records right now

So... Taking any credit Gaga had in DWAS and ignoring its existence, Mayhem still sits at 2.5 BILLION streams, and some of you are painting that number as a flop... Seriously, mental illness and obsession

No Doubt is my favourite band in the world, and I actually liked LAMB, TSE and some of TIWTTFL. I've seen her live (last time a couple of years ago), and she still has great punk energy when performing and was the sweetest with the fans who were clearly gay. On the other hand, I think she's become a conservative and deliberately blind (maybe even ignorant), who knows why. I don't like that part of her, obviously. It's...
