Idk what services work in your corner of the world but there should be middlemen that let you browse the Japanese internet and purchase products with a local Japanese address. For me, the distinction with books, is that you don't need external devices to use them. Most pop music vinyl collectors don't even own a turntable, and if they do it's a $99 Bluetooth one from Best Buy that objectively sounds worse than any other music format. A book is a full and complete way to conveniently consume the media within.

Physical media other than books is just clutter imo. I buy signed CDs or other rare collectibles but then they just rot in storage. I literally keep my physical video games in a drawer out of view too, and those have a use unlike CDs and records in the streaming age.

There are conflicting definitions on what even constitutes a stream. Person who has the most people streaming them is a valid criteria for determining who the most streamed artist is. You might have a different opinion but that doesn't invalidate my statement. I didn't say Rihanna is the artist gaining the most streams the fastest. I said she's the most streamed. If I were to ask who the most hated person in America is, you could point to somebody universally hated like Jeffrey Epstein, whom literally everybody hates, but you could also point to somebody like Trump who a smaller portion of the country hates a lot more for being all of the same things and then some. Monthly listeners is the most people streaming you. Reaching that spot off of a decades old catalog is just as if not more impressive than having your numbers going up the fastest, especially considering the rise of lunatic stans that farm streams for only a single artist all day every day. Some of those girls are still in their prime. Rihanna is the most streamed female artist with no album out in a decade. One of them peaked on debut in the 90s. Shakira is on her 90th peak. Miley definitely either peaked in 2013 or with Flowers. Bey was an extension of a 90s act and is still in her prime. If you need to cast such a wide net to argue my point about the 00s, perhaps the original point was correct.
