Do you Anki?

Featured Replies

an·ki /ˈɑːŋ.ki/ verb
1. to study or commit information to memory using Anki, a flashcard program built around active recall and spaced repetition.

Anki is basically a flashcard program that figures out when you're likely to forget something and shows it to you again around that time. The better you know a card, the longer it waits before showing up again. I use it a lot for university, especially economics. I have decks for theory, notation, coding stuff (data analysis class), and actual problems I have to solve rather than just memorize. I add cards as I learn new material and do my reviews pretty much every day, and at this point it's become one of my main ways of studying. It's also very good at humbling you because you can feel like you understand something perfectly, then a card comes up and suddenly you know nothing chick1

Does anyone else here use Anki? What do you use it for, and how intense have you gotten with it? It's time for....

I do! I love it. I use it to remember what science papers are linked to what results/methods.

No I quizlet

Quizlet recently ankified, interestingly. It's an opt-in thing though

Ngl I don't use flashcards. Maybe it's just personal experience but don't find them that effective with recall.

What I find effective for me is creating mind maps/concept maps if referring to concepts/terminologies to remember or flowcharts if I'm trying to remember a procedure
