Love Story going Top 10 in a measly 13 countries and #1 in ONE country being a smash.

Yeah it was not a smash from the start, it became a smash over time globally.

It is not surprising that you only stick to peaks since your fave's releases generates no buzz after their release week but that's what we call longevity, a concept that you are not very similiar of as expected

But keep going and convince yourself that Love Story and Anti Hero are more of a Abracadabra sized hits than a Cruel Summer sized.

Adele released only four albums in the 21st century and reached 100M units, along with having the biggest 21st century album. Yes, it could be argumented that she is. No one else in music reached that many units from that few albums this century.

Again, no one is talking about the biggest peak.

Gaga also moved 67 million units with her first 3 albums but still couldn't even double that after 8-9 albums and still far away from that.

Some artists have longevity and some are just fads

Adele could be the biggest artist of the 21st century if she only worked a little bit harder. You are downplaying Taylor, because she is releasing too many songs? Why is it so wrong for a musician to release many music? Of course part of her success is because she works hard, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Your fandom is known to be one of the most inorganic ones ever. Streaming farms pushing a song that isn't well-known in many parts of the world like Love Story because it never charted or charted low and remained N/A on radio is not the same as a smash hit. You know nothing about smash hits because you're a Swiftie so just hush on that subject. rip

At no point in time has Taylor ever amassed as many people for one project as Adele did for 21 and 25. She's the biggest peak any artist in the 21st century has seen. Having more songs and albums where none amass that many people does mean you never caught the attention of that many at once. If Taylor truly was a bigger artist than Adele then she would've had a project draw in more people. She hasn't.

2.4B streamed song being fanbase driven but abracadabra being a GP hit bibliahh

I am out with this delusion. I won't talk about hits with a fandom that so desperately calls songs like millions reasons and rain on me hits because their fave had like 3 actual hits after her debut

Girl give it a rest. Be a keyboard warrior in discussions where your delusion can be accepted such as with other Swifties. Don't embarrass yourself anymore.

Well, first of all Red + 1989 + reputation + Lover = 118.2M units. So it looks like Adele isn't the only one!

Second, again, the question wasn't who had the biggest album. Is Norah Jones the biggest female artist of the 2000s since she had the best-selling female album? There's a difference between having the biggest album and being the biggest artist. Adele doesn't even have half the units Taylor has, nor the longevity (see how 30 underperformed heavily). Let's be serious here.

Adele during 21 and 25 (2011 to 2017): Around 88M units

Taylor during Eras era (2022 to 2025): Around 143M units

it's weird that her longevity on the charts gets worse after selling out

2 albums each with only a standard and deluxe edition versus 3 studio albums, 2 re-recorded albums and god knows how many variants between them redface

Excuse the Swifties. They would only bring that to attention if it was the other way around.

Those Red and 1989 units are comprised of a regular version and a Taylor's version which were promoted as studio albums with lead singles etc. You literally made my point. chick2

Adele during 21 and 25 (4 albums): Around 88M units

Taylor during Eras era (10 albums + 4 re-recordings): Around 143M units.

I know you guys are all about quantity vs. quality but Adele has sold more units with less albums than Taylor ever has or ever will.

Edited by Doctor Dick

I don't know why Swifties even bother with that Gaga Stan. Let them suffer knowing Gaga will never get a solo number 1 ever again while pretending she's still big in music when she's not unless she's leeching on a more successful artist. Taylor can be as "InOrGaNiC" as y'all want her to be but she still has people interested in her music without leeching on other artists and Taylor didn't burn out immediately after her debut Album to become a Middle of the Road Jazz reject musician.

Also laughing that the Midster has to hide behind Adele.

Norah Jones has sold more units with less albums than Beyoncé ever will. Is she bigger than her?

Norah Jones didn't have any #1 singles or back-to-back behemoth selling albums along with record-breaking first week sales.

Adele: 50 songs = 88M units.

Taylor Swift: 400+ songs = 143M units.

True. Not everyone can be Taylor and not fizzle out after 3-4 albums.

See: Gaga, Adele

Her whole career is inorganic. She'd be nowhere if it wasn't her daddy buying multiple copies of her album to get her signed. Nobody wanted her thing

The issue with this thread is we don't actually know from OP's numbers whether this was organic or not. It would've been better if he showed how much of this was radio vs. actual streams.
