Two singer-songwriters notorious for their lack of #1s and 2m+ album sellers in the UK music market, but which one is more global overall?

Does Janet have a UK #1 album? Britney doesn't.

Britney has more singles that were global hits, whereas Together Again is Janet's only true global smash that reached the Top 5 in all the main markets.

They seemed to have performed similarly with their albums.

I guess Britney then?

I am, by this logic Rihanna and Katy are local because they have no #1 albums in Germany...

Xtina had a big peak in the UK with Stripped, but besides that Britney's numbers wash Xtina's, with all due respect to her. Some of Britney's albums peaks were lower but always debuted with higher sales. Britney also has way bigger touring numbers in the UK.

...what ? Britney is among the most global artists of all time suburban

what are we threading next: Shakira Vs Ava Max ?

Stay on topic everyone! This thread's about retired local artists not Global Legend X!

Britney is the most global female artist after Madonna, what kind of joke is this?

How is Xtina not retired? Britney released more albums (Britney Jean, Glory) than Xtina (Libresse) in the last 14 years D.M.F

That doesn't even make sense. Global artists would have #1 albums in a massive music market like the UK. I have the same number of #1 albums as Britney in the UK! Lmao. Haha.

I genuinely cannot imagine retiring at 67 years old and spending all day on a forum posting flamebait threads to tear down successful women.

Either way, Britney has had more success in every country globally, but Janet is still a legend and laid the blueprint for Britney.
