She's not a household name and has no current hit single. She's lucky to chart. Let's hope the tour does help her build a loyal fanbase , especially in the US.

i know she's not a household name, but i also don't think she's some unknown new artist either. She has a lot of visibility, and a recognizable name... people definitely know who Tyla is. And i'm not only looking at the U.S. either, APOP did 4.8M Spotify streams worldwide, which is decent but i honestly thought it would be higher

idk... i just felt like there was a lot of buzz around this album and people seemed curious to hear it, so i thought that would show up more in the numbers. i def think the tour is going to be a big turning point for her and really help

thisssssssss x100000000. I feel like if they didn't cancel the first tour she would be in a little bit of a better space.

I'm going to give this a couple more listens to see if my feelings change but, this did not work for me. Right Now is my favorite, it's so good. There were 3 or 4 tracks that when I listened to them I was like, "Is this not the same song/beat?". I did also like Kiss and Mr. Nonchalant but, like I said I think I need to listen to this a couple more times and maybe skip the ones that didn't work for me at all. I was kind of hoping the features would've been better as well.

It's crazy how subliminal the impact of a tour announcement can be! It's very smart to announce the first week and I'm so glad she did. Apparently people lock in on the new material to learn as many songs as possible as if the concert is the next day

I know y'all were trying to lash about us caring about her actually pulling the numbers she deserves BUT I do want to say she missed some good $$ by not touring the south as extensively.

Miami!!! NOLA, Nashville, Charlotte, even 2x ATL instead of once would all be sold out or damn near. These are massive markets for POC.

the album is lowkey a mess but crazy of me and kiss are AMAZING

It rose in South Africa, so I think it's going to rise globally too, with 'that girl' showing the biggest growth!

Her debut album and sophomore are top 10 biggest Spotify debut amongst females in SA and the chart is usually infiltrated by local songs. Songs like 'Is it' which is not bigger than Chanel globally did better in SA though peak-wise

MV coming tomorrow and it's quite interesting ( hopefully it's not AI) but I've seen pictures of her in that outfit so I don't think it's AI

• There is a disconnect happening with her branding.

• She has global appeal and a recognisable name and presence online but that is not converting to streams.

• Her streams are weak for a 2x Grammy Award winner and a "Popstar" as she aspires to be.

• I think she needs better positioning; she has done many major performances and appearances but that is not translating to good numbers.

• Her team might need to change or be redirected, she made an album that is South African Pop but SA doesnt even stream her music enough to give her a substantial #1 song or album. On the contrary, majority of her marketing as been US-centric, obviously its the biggest music consumption market but the next era will have to be more career defining.

• Happy she is finally doing that well needed US tour as she is yet to establish any dominance in this market outside of Water.
