digicam /dĭg′ĭ-kăm″/

noun

  1. A digital camera.

Usually when people say "digicam" now, they don't just mean any digital camera. They usually mean those older small cameras people use for that flash-heavy, slightly grainy, candid, night-out, Y2K-ish look that phone cameras don't naturally give.

People are into them because:

  • the photos feel less polished and more nostalgic

  • direct flash looks really good for parties, selfies, and going-out pics

  • celebs & influencers are posting digicam pics on IG again, so the whole Y2K / indie sleaze candid vibe is back

  • they're separate from your phone (no constant notifications or weird "everything is tracked" feeling) just a cute little device that only exists to take pics

So… do you have a digicam? What model? And do you actually use it, or is it just there to look cute? chick1

no , i do have a DSLR and i have an authentic 1970 ' s Polaroid instant film camera , but i do see the appeal of the y2k digicam and would like one thing

I have a Canon PowerShot, but the battery is terrible. You take some pictures, and it turns off in 20-30 minutes. rip
I have my old blackberry stored in one of my room boxes. Lemme take some pics with it.
Retro is edgy now
