it's going to be the same crap anyway. right wing conservatives raising hell and left nut jobs falling prey every time. rinse and repeat over all kinds of social media

let's go back to full on analogue times

Peak Twitter was around 2008 when it didn't break into the mainstream yet.

The other alternatives are so polished that they lose all appeal. I use Twitter a lot for tracking political coverage because a lot of journalists and activists I like still post there. They have never migrated to BlueSky and BlueSky is very... liberal (i.e., criticism towards the Democratic Party, even from the Left, are not welcome). So, I have opted to stay on Twitter as opposed to BlueSky for that content. I'd love for an alternative to take over, though!

Doesn't matter, Elon successfully gave space for some of the most miserable people to unite and they will never leave regardless of who owns it

I think they would re-open Twitter as a separate platform/entity.
