Bad Romance wasn't even nominated so it's clear there has been some bias/lack of taste in that voting body. But I agree the ROTY winner this year was especially disappointing to hear just given Kendrick literally won last year and Abracadabra is the most impressive song of the bunch by a large margin anyway. Like how do you top Abracadabra? Ultimately the winners are dictated by things other than pure quality.

Bad Romance was blocked by the blue ribbon panel, it would have made it in on a straight vote. Truly the biggest snub of her career to me, she actually had a decent shot to win both

Notice how Gaga keeps losing against political songs lately. Shallow lost to this is America, Chudai lost against Not Like Us and now ABRA lost against Luther with Kendrick being the biggest offender and blocking her ass for two consecutive ceremonies now.
