Speaking of soft launching CC at the GRAMMYs, a fun theory I have as to why the one haphazardly announced that album without a real plan so abruptly is because Beyonce put a worm out that she was announcing and showed up in her CC get-up giving the illusion that she was announcing. Obviously the plan was to announce the following week, but to avoid the other of trying to steal that moment, she created this one. The other, a known spotlight stealer, had to quickly announce thinking she'd be the first of the night. I truly feel like had she known, she would've announced during the SB somehow.

Maybe I'm crazy, but everything about that moment seemed strange, and the reaction of her peers in the audience gave that perception, too.

The truth is, it doesn't feel like the new era is imminent (getting it all in May). At the same time, MET is a major platform and opportunity for her, and she wouldn't step outside without having something to show, tell or sell. I think the MET will be the 'set-up' for the era. We will have a clear signal that act-iii era has begun. I also think we might get a statement or two, highlighting something important for her and her narrative (like the contributions of black and other minority artists in fashion, art and music and its crossroads - for example, the rock aesthetic and its roots-, etc. that is tied to the theme. She will uplift someone, and so on, possibly giving Blue some more spotlight too). This could be followed by a magazine spread the following week, giving us more statements about what is to come, where she is in life, her legacy, and the aesthetics of the era. A few weeks later, we might get the first single.

If this is remotely accurate as a guess, the album release would be around June, July or even August.

i agree met gala should give us a taste of what to expect for the next act.

The Met Gala theme is also very wide so she could easily wear a rock inspired costume and it fall right into the theme. If she remains predictable she will use the The Mett as the launching platform for act iii.

Also, I think the wait time between the album announcement and release will be VERY short this time and I theorize it's linked to the act iii files being stolen or her wanting to ensure NOTHING leaks.

she's confirmed, since she's a co-chair this year along with Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.

let's also not forget that while it's lavish and exclusive, Met Gala is still a nonprofit event that raises money for the museum. it's a charity gala supporting art and it being more accessible, allowing the Met to offer "pay what you can" tickets to New Yorkers and such.
