Does Hilary Duff know her lyrics?

Hilary talks about her music career, stans Britney Spears and even gives more insight on her album title in a new interview with Variety.

  • Seeing her talk about her music just makes me so happy. It's hard to explain why it means so much to me tbh, she was always my 2nd fav after britney growing up and she was such a big part of my life b

  • I love every bit of this. Britney was astronomical growing up and was a fav of mine for sure, but when Hilary dropped I Can't Wait back in '02 it was the first time I felt like I discovered and connec

  • I just love her so much. So so happy to hear her excitement and connection to the new music. I never thought we'd see another album from her, and now we're not only getting one, but we're getting one

The title is beautiful and deep, I love it.

I am surprised she remembered all her songs. She either recently rerecorded them or has been rehearsing them for the mini tour 👀

I just adore hilary and seeing her coming back to what made me connect to her, which was music, is just hitting me hard lol. So excited for the album.

P.S.

If she even dares to make me wait another 10 years for another album after this one I will never forgive her lmao. I want albums every 2-3 years from her going forward, it's time to make up for lost time.

I feel like they gave her really easy ones.

I was waiting for the Anywhere But Here or The Getaway mention :noparty:

Such a cute interview. It's clear she's been in rehearsals a lot, because her memory has gotten a lot better!

Really interesting to hear how the album title comes from the final track on the album, Adult Sized Medium, and what the track is about.

You can really tell how involved she was in the creation of this new album.

Yeah, I agree. But honestly, she's not that great at remembering her catalog, this is a big achievement for her 👀

At least she remembered With Love from Dignity, her last podcast made me think she totally forgot about that album!

My girl :chick3: it's really nice to see her getting back into the groove of things, I know everyone loves to poke fun that she doesn't remember her music career but she was literally a teenager, I barely remember **** from my teen years imagine someone who was doing a million things at that age :rip:  Also happy she's been rehearsing a lot lately so all her old lyrics must be coming back. Wish they asked harder songs to guess tho, Dignity deep cuts would have been fun to see her guess

And she's right, BIBO does not feel cohesive. The first half is perfect, that second half after Arms Around A Memory... exists. I barely touch those songs, listened to them maybe three in total and never again :dies:

I'm happy she is doing music the way she wants this time around and I'm so excited to see what's she's got for us! :jonny5:

I never knew she had a speech impediment as a child, me too

I love seeing her care so much about music after a whole decade of ditching it, and Mature is such a good song too

I love every bit of this. Britney was astronomical growing up and was a fav of mine for sure, but when Hilary dropped I Can't Wait back in '02 it was the first time I felt like I discovered and connected with a new artist on my own. I loved Lizzie too but the music is what did it for me, where I know a lot of people still see her as Lizzie I immediately recognized Hilary from that moment on.

Seeing her venture further into music in an authentic way struck a chord with me as a young queer kid struggling to be themselves, and is something that's made me root for her ever since. L...oS is gonna be a special one for sure :heart2:

I've been coming back to Brave Heart and Rebel Hearts a lot lately, they're so underrated.

I respect how she feels about BIBO and how it's kind of 2 projects meshed into one. But I feel like the glossier songs flow surprisingly well into the more "earthy" :eli:second half (if only they had replaced Picture This with "Hurts"...UGH)

But, she's basically confirming that L...oS is a beautifully cohesive work of art :bird:

I don't dislike any of the songs actually, they just don't feel right within the album for me personally, that's why I wish we could have gotten This Heart as a complete piece because as you said it did feel like two projects meshed but I don't think there's any songs I genuinely dislike, just don't go back to them.

Yesss, I'm so excited to hear what she's prepared for us! Mature was such a nice start:jonny:

I just love her so much. So so happy to hear her excitement and connection to the new music. I never thought we'd see another album from her, and now we're not only getting one, but we're getting one that is 100% her vision and that she is proud of. :chick3:

Love the album title and her explanation for it. I'm so ready for her to be a popstar again :duca:
