She should've released this as a single for herself. I hope her getting credit(?) for this gave her some coin though. I know her dad passed away around the time of recording her pop house album but if she would've stuck with this sound for at least one record especially Mad Love in particular since it was going to be her first major comeback in almost decade. I honestly feel like it would've reset her career commercially speaking and she would've found her much needed and deserved mainstream success.

I agree. Weren't we supposed to be getting an upbeat record follow up? But now she's on Broadway. For someone who's really intent on making music and wanting stardom it's crazy how she always pivots when she has the opportunity to do so
