I feel like I'm missing something y'all love to talk about the girls getting pushed out of nowhere but how did he book SNL with no relevant success (commercial or critical)

 

 

apparently this is a viral hit (mind you it's his only charting song so far...) 

but it looks like no matter how much it got pushed by radio or social medias algorithm it still hasn't even cracked the Hot 100 yet?

 

 

looks like he signed to Interscope in 2018 and dropped 2 albums since (which bombed upon release)

he seems to have a couple other songs with decent streaming #s (that couldve easily been achievable with major label shenanigans of playlist/autoplay)

 

he also only has 1m IG followers so while he might have a cute following it's not like he's some hot sensation 

I dont think a lot of publications reviewed his album either but it got a 5.8 from Pitchfork fwiw

Rolling Stone is even predicting him to be nominated at the Grammys 

 

 

and then how did he book this movie with 0 previous acting credits?

 

 

 

I only vaguely knew of him before cuz he dated Emma Chamberlain so what gives

His sudden industry push is so inorganic. I never heard of him until Pop Crave randomly started posting about him. (Obvious paid promotion). Didn't even know he was going to be on SNL. 

This is one of those artists my trainee at work is listening to. She's 20 and he's just one of those new dudes (think Benson and Sombr)

Don't know him, but he's hot. 

he released one of the best songs this year .i am happy for his SNL debut tomorrow.

Tucker has been gaining social media presence like crazy the past year or so, it's not really surprising to book SNL. Album 3 will likely be the proper breakthrough.

Had no idea who he was but saw him at a festival and he was honestly pretty good and charismatic. Definitely for the straight women but he sounded good on the track and live.

I imagine the wholesome persona he has will erode as he becomes more famous but them's the brakes.
