Tate McRae's rise over time and trajectory is almost undeniable at this point. So Close to What debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 177,000. Surpassing a lot of 1st week sales of ATRL's so called MPGs of today.

Her newest single debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. (her highest single debut to date)

While ATRL has been greatly divided by her. Is it finally time to admit she's very close to being a MPG? Is she low-key smashing now more than some of the modern pop girls like Charli/Addison/Gracie/Chappell etc. Is she still a chop? ATRL decides!

  • Billie has been a MPG for half a decade     -   Obviously, hit #1 album, big arena tour, a lot of singles with nice longevity and can now manage top 3 debuts with singles.

  • The fact that she recorded and rehearsed both It's ok I'm ok and *** for tat within weeks of performing them with full choreo and production all while being on tour. Who's doing it like her

And FADpell's last two singles tumbled into the pits of Spotify hell and quick, how dare we compare :biblio:

Why "future"? She already is a MPG.

It's the way she's low-key the most successful female pop artist that started smashing in the 2020s after Sabrina and Olivia, so you're onto something

I think she's already a MPG in US/CAN and Europe.

She only needs to work on Latam and maybe Asia.  :bird:

This is what lots of ATRL says sis!

:suburban:

No the only reason she debuted in the top 3 is because she capitalized on her PR relationship breakup with The Kid Laroi

:clack:

The rest of the world and even middle America never heard of her

To be MPG the world gotta have to know you with your brand

It's a simply nope, no shade

She's in the same lane as Dua Lipa was before, when she was rising, and we saw how that panned out.

She's established in Oceania too, her album did the best chart run wise in Australia. Her profile is growing exponentially in Latam, but she's still quite small/niche in Asia

She clearly already is. Stop thinking in 2010 standards.

I'm not sis, I was a literal child in 2010. Just trying to prove a point

I think she is / will be. Cannot look at MPG status like we did in the 2010s. Entirely different era. She has a major fanbase, great pure sales and streams, and is selling out arena tours. She reminds me of Ariana pre-2019 when she could not get a #1 single of her own to save her life. Then she began to flourish post thank u, next. I feel the same is happening to Tate rn.

As an Ariana stan, I wanted to say it but you said it for me. It's giving deja vu
