I think it's funny that Poptimism has basically just amounted to commercial Pop acts,some undeserving,of being critically inflated. Somehow that's similarly insulting to the way it was before.

Yes.  Anytime Carly doesn't release music for an extended period of time, pop music essentially goes on life support.  Once she releases her 7th studio album, we are so back baby.

Yes, but hopefully this time it reaches an equilibrium. The way pop and pop adjacent acts, usually women, used to get reviewed in the mid to late aughts was insane.

Now why is Addison catching strays in here  that is one gorgeously and lushly produced, well thought out pop record! Just because she used to be a tacky American on TikTok dancing with that Charlie Domingo girl or whatever her name was, doesn't mean we shouldn't all appreciate it when a girly studies her pop history (and studies it well) and puts her own spin on it

Addison not getting universal acclaim (81+) is probably the biggest indicator that poptimism lost its force. Like it or not, it certainly checks all the boxes that made any pop girl album from 4-6 years ago be acclaimed.
