Smallest MPG peaks?

Nope. Culturally, it was Britney. We are talking about dominant eras in terms of media presence, hits, ALBUM sales, talked about performances, etc. Rihanna was a radio hit maker. Nothing more

Girl, what? The only thing Britney had over Rihanna was media coverage, Rihanna had an album with longevity, Umbrella being #1 everywhere and a pletora of hits following right after and all that in a the spam of 2 years...

I think Selena. Her Revival era was big but not really big and her real peak at 2017/2018 secured her as an MPG, with over 12M units and 7 hits and smashes in only 2 years.

I'm not considering Demi as a MPG cause she never had a big era with real big hits. Not considering Olivia and Sabrina cause they are too new for this.

Rihanna was basically Dua at the time. Please do not tell me you think Rihanna was A-list because umbrella was a massive hit. She was a faceless hit maker until rated r (for reasons out of her control, unfortunately). Name an iconic Rihanna performance from that time. Rihanna is consistent but she's never dominated like Britney, Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna, Mariah, etc  did on ALL fronts. They were pushing singles, albums, tours, and media coverage to unparalleled heights

blackout was a huge flop and failed to produce any #1's. TMZ headlines are nothing to brag about :skull:

In 2007 Britney dominated tabloids and media coverage yes, but I disagree with 2008, at least most of it.

Google trends shows Rihanna took over Britney WW sometime in 2008 (you can check yourself). Plus Rihanna had significantly bigger hits, album sales etc.

2008 also debuted The Fame and Sasha Fierce. Music wise Britney's Blackout and Circus weren't competing with Gaga, Bey or Rihanna at all who were all experiencing 20m+ unit eras (or 40m in Gaga's case).

Blackout did 6m and Circus 8.9m for comparison.

Britney was a massive name culturally in 2007, tho, that's kind of what he is saying (even tho I disagree with them on Rihanna). She was the most globally searched celebrity in 2007 :skull:

Selena peak was the droplets era that moved more than 10 million units.

2019 picture:

However, i agree that considering how huge Selena is, her peak wasn't that big, she was more steady.

but it wasn't revival, she was way more global during 2017 and 2018, even reaching #1 on Spotify Monthly Listeners.

Ariana, not because she couldn't have a bigger era, but due to the fact that her overall promo and online presence was minimal aside from MVs.  She always has one or two big songs per album but fails to actually promote the album itself, which leads to underwhelming sales and streaming figures long term.

As others said, Rihanna.  Her singles, and her presence, were everywhere, but the actual albums never matched her level of fame and media presence.

Demi and Selena were never MPGs, so I count their peaks more so as over-performances than a small MPG peak.

Ariana, tun ends up being much

smaller than Billie's debut and Lover, it only has half units of these two. You can compare it with another hitmaker Rihanna's album sales peak (GGGB) and it's still much smaller

Why are you comparing GGGB released in 2007 to TUN released in 2019? And yall are conveniently leaving out My Everything like TUN was her first peak or something. My Everything is at 17M global units since 2014 (11 years ago). GGGB is at 27M global units since 2007 (18 years ago). GGGB was released in a completely different era of music consumption anyway so the comparison makes no sense to any of Ariana's albums. Rihanna released 7 out of 8 of her albums before Ariana's debut album even came out.

Commercially it's Miley. She has no album including Hannah Montana that surpassed 10M units globally. Yall saying Ariana when Miley's biggest era Bangerz is at 8.5M units globally which is on par with Sweetener that came out 5 years later. She isn't touching My Everything (17M), Dangerous Woman (13M) or TUN (13M). Sweetener (8.5M), Positions (8.3M) and Eternal Sunshine (6.6M) will all surpass Miley's peak album in units as well considering recurrent streams. Sweetener actually already surpassed and Positions will surpass in a couple months or so. Eternal Sunshine (6.6M in less than 2 years) will fly past Bangerz total global units. All of Ariana's album except Yours Truly (5.2M) are on track to be 10M+ units globally. Miley....not so much. Bangerz will be the only one to make 10M+ and it's crawling there slowly.

Miley also has 0 albums that did over 100 weeks on the Billboard 200 while Ariana has 3 and ES is likely to make it 4. Sweetener and My Everything are at 90 weeks which is still more than every single Miley/Hannah album. Bangerz (56) is literally on par with Yours Truly (54) with total weeks charting and they came out the same year btw lmao.

My Everything is bigger than Bangerz in every single metric too - pure album sales, digital single sales and streaming equivalent units. It's not just ahead because of streaming since ATRL loves to discredit that metric to push their own narratives to uplift their faves.

Digital singles sales

My Everything (2014): 27.2M

Bangerz (2013): 15.6M

Pure album sales

My Everything (2014): 2.3M

Bangerz (2013): 2.1M

Streaming units

My Everything (2014): 10.8M

Bangerz (2013): 4M

Miley has never been and will never be a MPG. I thought this was established.

I don't know why you all mentioning the Mileys, Selenas and Demis. Those are not MPG

Ariana.  She only appeals to the btm club kids, usually poc. she used to appeal  to the white gays with break free but they left after she used Nicki Minaj/blackiana era.

but yes Ariana. It feels as if she peaked and for only a few months.  Now, she's just around like Kesha Cole, Kesha and Flo rida.

ari easily but only cuz she cut the era short. bad idea bloodline and ghosting couldve been easy hits

Some people here said Ariana cause they don't consider Miley, Selena and Demi as a MPG is sending me :bibliahh:

Yeah, I mean you guys need to decide who is MPG first before deciding whose peak is the smallest, otherwise the whole thread will just be a mess (and it already did)
