I came home from hiking yesterday and my new roommate had friends over. They invited me to drink with them, so I showered and then they gave me tequila shots. It was fun, but I blacked out and don't remember anything past the first hour. I woke up at 5 AM and found myself on the leather couch in the living room with only a shirt on. My pants and underwear were nowhere to be found. (:gaycat7:) I don't know what the hell I did. I retreated to my room and I've been hibernating in there ever since. I'm afraid to show my face. I'm embarrassed and wondering if my roommate or his friends saw me in my full glory. Especially because I just met them and that is their first impression of me. I now remember why I stopped drinking tequila for a while. Should I give it up again?

Spoiler

And why is my throat kind of sore?

Your shouldn't feel embarrassed. I promise you EVERYONE has a liquor story! :heart2:

Make sure to eat & drink water! Rest off & on! Sometimes for me going for a walk in the sun makes me feel better!

Good luck :heart2:

Doing multiple shots of any liquor (likely after not having eating much if you just finished a hike) is what you could cut down on first. Tequila gets such a bad wrap due to how people consume it

You are right. I also drank a big ass espresso martini before the tequila shots so I wouldn't be awkward :clownny: and I barely ate. I didn't have breakfast and only had a small slice of pizza after the hike

Is it really that bad? I've never tried it before

I stopped drinking it for years after college because I had so many regrets the day after :dies: I got with some questionable men and woke up in some very strange places lmao

I started drinking it again in the past few years and fell in love with freshly made margaritas and tequila with soda water and a splash of juice. When it's good, it's good, but this most recent experience is cringe af :gaycat7:

I've blacked out a couple of times, several years apart, due to too much vodka. I've never tried tequila but luckily I don't have an addictive personality. I haven't drank alcohol for four years and that was a sudden decision based on a change of attitude towards it, one day I did, the next I didn't and that was that.

I don't tell anyone how to live their lives. There was a point in my life when it fitted (being a student and being on the gay scene), and then a point when it didn't. I think back to the hangovers and the depression the hangovers brought with them and I simply don't think I'm equipped to face that anymore, I simply don't want the pain.

That said, there is a nasty yet highly profitable alcoholic beverage, made with caffeine which is popular in my area. Alcohol as you will know (in traditional form), is a depressant/ downer and caffeine is an upper, so it's not uncommon in my city for people to get drunk past the point when they would normally black out and instead they are unnaturally kept fully alert by caffeine and end up getting in to fights where they sometimes end up slashed across the face or with a broken bottle smashed on their head.

So, basically.. there are worse things that can happen when you are drunk, aside from blacking out.

Apparently I was fine one minute and standing and talking with everyone, then all the sudden I was passed out in a corner. They carried me to my bed and then I reemerged in my Winnie The Pooh get up and passed out on the leather couch :suburban:

I apologized and said how mortified I was and they laughed it off :dies: so I think all is good with them but I still need an exorcism

Help...well tbh that's probably the best outcome possible

:suburban:

Yes. Tequila is the only alcohol that has ever made me sick and pass out. Also the only one where I truly 'forget' the night before.
