and the mother lyrics will never not stop making me emotional whenever I listen to it, cause I feel like I'm in a place now where I can now start to atleast payback my mother for all the hardwork she went through but she's no longer in this world.

and this song helped me go through a hard time when I was struggling after college for my university fees.

Work and CYL (and other songs fom the early album sessions with that dreamy aspirational vibe) were so excellent but then her label (and T.I.) had to go and ruin it..

 

(don't get me wrong it's still a solid album but some tracks are very much of its time)

I remember when she released the MV, I was hooked, but the b**ch waited FOREVER to officially release the song. All I had to quench my thirst was replaying the MV on Youtube.

I was waiting and dying and counting the days until I could finally purchase the song and download it to whatever device I was using.

 

Her best song, the lyrics, the production, the melody, the MV. Everything is perfection. 

Deserving going Gold for not being a hit. Actually it deserves smashing at #1.

she really did. it may not be a huge smash but i do think this is an iconic debut single in the same vein as CIL, BOMT etc. its longevity is very telling.
