Don't Blame Me not being a single was dumb but I truly think it was just because it was her backlash era and the title "Don't Blame Me" implies that she can't take blame :deadbanana: An Ariana changing "Focus On Me" to "Focus" after Donutgate tea

Yeah I remember it appeared on AllAccess as "Focus On Me" a couple months before its launch, and they kept her writing that title in the video nnn

Then she made a cringey YouTube video about how "I don't mean focus on me, but I want you to see the real me" or something :deadbanana4:

Unstoppable!

She should release "Don't Blame Me (Taylor's Version) (Live from Reputation Stadium Tour)" and get those streams

I’m dreading SIO/Blank Space TV. They are the two songs that vocally absolutely must sound identical to the originals. Her younger country stuff works re-recorded because we get a new side to the song with a more mature outlook (provided by her deeper mature vocals) and reputation will be fine as it needs as much power as it can get, but those 1989 singles need those pretty squeaky vocals. There is literally no room for error. They have to be perfect. We cannot have another WANEGBT. She needs to do whatever it takes to match the originals.

I wouldn’t be mad if she raised the last chorus of DBM up an octave (like that iconic studio recording video) and expanded the high notes section to match the tour version for the re-recording.

Hi everyone, new member here :gaycat4: my holy trinity are sacRED, folkAOTY and everGOD

Blank Space is relatively simple, production wise people call it a PH era Lorde song for a reason

The problem will be Shake It Off. That song has literally 40+ layers of percussion and vocals and synths and **** and there's no way that Taylor will be able to perfectly recreate (or even come close to it) without an act of God or Max Martin sitting next to her.

so true. people her often compare ME! to Shake it off, like have they even listened to the two songs? SIO melody and production are immaculate, there is a reason GP love that song so much. ME! on the other hand :deadbanana4:

This isn't true. Lorde inspired the kick drum pattern but it's pristine pop perfection because of Max's magic. It sounds expensive and just hits. Recreating it is a Herculean task. If it sounds a lot cheaper it will be noticeable.

I agree it sounds expensive and is extremely well done and that ******* it up will be obvious, but if you listen to an instrumental, there's really not that much going on in the back, especially when compared to Shake It Off. Of course, the flipside is that since there are fewer layers, ******* up any of them will be even more noticeable. ******* up Blank Space would be a grievous crime, and if it's noticeable it might cause the million people a day that currently listen to the original to stay listening to the original, which would be rough.
