Preview for "Love Me Alive" (a freaking TUNE!)

 

Just over 24 hours until its first release internationally and I'm stupidly excited for this album.

None of their songs have quite reached the timeless immaculate energy of slow song 

The short previews on their instagram sound amazing 

It's a fun album/ep. I love the cover of "let my love open the door".

This was cute. nothing impressive tbh.

I'm obsessed with this. They are a magical combo for me, nothing quite hitting Slow Song's level doesn't even feel like a dig, that song is otherworldly and there even being a couple that come close here are enough to elevate it to a top tier project for me. Title track is def my song of the year, but there isn't a dud in the bunch for me. 

 

Saw them at WeHo Pride this past weekend where they did a hybrid Knocks DJ set with Dragonette coming out every couple songs to sing live with Aquaria lip syncing along. It truly was magical hearing some of these live on the dance floor outdoor with the disco ball light illuminating the area.

 

Don't mind it not being there on the album on streaming, but I do kind of wish they tacked Slow Song on as a bonus track for the vinyl, especially since History never got a pressing.

Me liking this isn't surprising though, it scratches the same itch that Niki & The Dove's Everybody's Heart Is Breaking Now does and that remains an all time favorite album for me.

 

Also I have a drive I regularly do that clocks in at roughly 35 minutes and wanted to extend the album a bit to use for that drive, so pro-tip this works as a pretty immaculate way to extend the album if you want to make a bonus playlist.

All 3 remixes of Slow Song are great, the St Lucia one just worked best for me coming off of Let My Love Open the Door and best fits the vibe of the album

the whole album really reminds me of emotion by carly, especially side b.. almost every song is a 10/10 for me but friday night is my favorite and the cover of let my love open the door is cute af. would love to see a deluxe with some more tracks in the future !

this is reminding me of Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion: Side B and Aly & AJ's Sanctuary EP  that's to say: this is some great pop music

I had this album on repeat the whole weekend while driving next to the shore. Amazing vibes.

And I had exactly the same thoughts. This reminds me to Emotion.

 

Dreams and Let my Love Open the Door are my TOP 2 

This album sounds like a classic. Alongside Mayhem, this is my AOTY so far. Such a pure fun, blissful album.

This deep cut collab of hers sounds so much like Kylie it is spooky.
