Thoughts on Imogen Heap?

I liked that headlock song so I explored her discography and found out that Say Goodnight & Go from Ariana Granda was actually a cover :deadbanana:

I know her from this

Britney working with Frou Frou and Moby during the same time... Her mind was so powerful.

i dont think of her but from what I heard her music isn't really that compelling or interesting to me at all.

Wonderful artist, insanely impactful on today's music regardless of genre

As a big Caroline Polachek fan, I really want to check her stuff out. I love this song she did under her Frou Frou band:

It's a stunning album with lush production for the time. Definitely Caroline's Desire's mother. So good :clap3:

An absolute legend, a songwriter, producer, engineer, does everything from start to finish herself, the voice of an angel, etc etc :jonny5: :jonny5:

I really only listened to Speak For Yourself, but that is a classic album with no skips.

She has been sampled so many times in the zeitgeist; you definitely have heard more of her songs than you think.

I actually knew her from the depressing Christmas classic song "Just for Now".

Even Kelly Clarkson covered that song on Wrapped in red.:coffee2:

I first was exposed to her through her band Frou Frou from the shrek soundtrack, her cover of Holding Out for a Hero played over the credits :jonnycat:

then, of course, we all know Hide and Seek is a meme'd classic (#ThankYouTheOC), but the actual song is so depressing :chick3:

I love her music so much!

Speak for Yourself (the album with Headlock) is one of my top 5 albums of all time :jonny: I love every song, but off the top of my head my favs are Daylight Robbery, Loose Ends, Goodnight and Go. I love her two albums after that too, even though they took a while to grow on me.

The lyrics of Swoon from Ellipse still escape me lol, but it's so damn catchy

Also love the Frou Frou album: Hear Me Out and Breathe In are CLASSICS! I'm really only not a fan of her debut album and her recent instrumental-only ventures.

Love her  Details is one of my fave albums of all time. Also Ellipse deserves its flowers too

Speak For Yourself is a brilliant album and I think all of her other projects are great too. She's an incredibly talented artist, the kind of artist who may not be one of the true greats in the industry but who's artistry informs and inspires so many others in the industry. Her work has been sampled, covered, used in soundtracks, referenced by other celebrities a ton.

Speak For Yourself is the first album I've ever purchased physically. It means a lot to me

Ellipse was great, but not as much.

Lost interest in pretty much everything she did after that point (except random songs like Taylor's Clean and her own You Know Where to Find Me, etc).

Discovered her Frou Frou album and fell back in love with her

I respect her immensely and I think she's very talented. But her lack of interest in solo albums has made it hard to care for her the last decade, besides trips down memory lane.
