I kind of want a robot vacuum (though they're ******* expensive so I wouldn't get one in the near future). But some of them seem like more trouble than they're worth whereas other people swear by them. I'm just curious what ATRL thinks.

omg i was thinking of getting one too. it'd have to be one that mops too bc my house is all tile but im not sure about getting one either.. its just a lot of money when realistically vacuuming and mopping only takes me like 30 mins per week.. 

 

I really think a little bit of vacuuming wouldn't kill anyone.

I'll say while I have one and really like it, it's not worth it for most people.  Vacuuming really is not that time consuming.  I just work from 8am-8pm most weekdays and it's just a blessing to come home to a place that has already been vacuumed.  

if you have pets 100% I have a self-emptying one and I've been really happy with it. The only maintenance I've had to do is clear the roller occasionally. 

 

Originally I wanted one of the mop ones but the reviews were kinda meh for the mid-range models... I think I will revisit in a couple of years when the tech is better.

It's convenient, but not life changing.  

No I feel it wouldn't vacuum everything plus it's kinda tiny like where does the dust go? 

 

I got something called a shark and it cleans well and it doesn't really take long so I just use that once a week. Plus it's only exercise I get recently since I'm too anxious to leave the house for a walk so I just get the vacuum out

Yeah, I use it for my living room mostly at full force and with the washing mode on, since it has a lot of carpet and I have a tiny old dog who urinates everywhere, so it's been a life saver to clean that place

Eh. I fear it's a fad. I prefer the manual spinning mop.
