Wow thank God they both got it out of their system based on those two videos  That Chappell one was worse and she had much more to gain by singing normally, so she gets my vote here.

Whoa, Chappell was a whole different artist. Makes me appreciate more artists like Rina who, before being known, had a solid sound and clear direction ever since 2013.

 

Anyways, Chappell does not use any cursive singing and thank god for that because she's doing really well without it.

Chappell wasn't doing cursive she was doing that pseudo-Jamaican accent and it was absolutely embarrassing. I adore Chappell but listening to her old stuff makes me wonder what the hell she was thinking cuz what  

The Chappell EP is just purely vile really... I can tell why she's so embarrassed by that disgusting music ddd

I feel like Lorde was the first to do it but it seemed far more natural to her voice. Like I think a large part of that is her kiwi accent and the way she enunciates her words naturally but maybe I'm delusional.  

Chappell has the worst cursive singing I've ever heard. Her voice is so much better now.

It's crazy that Chappell has such a powerful voice and can belt (unlike a lot of her peers) and opted for this nonsense instead. Makes me wonder how she ever expected to find success off of this music and image. Actually, it makes me wonder why a big label heard this and signed her in the first place. Thank god she found herself.
