Better palette cleanser era?

 

 

I gotta give the 3rd category to Joanne 'cause BS had a sing like "Human Nature" and i don't think Madonna was as deep as gaGa in the whole rebranding thing around that time. It was more superficial to her.

Bedtime Stories is a very underrated record! I wouldn't say it's in my top3 Madonna albums, but it holds up well against her strongest work, which says a lot! 
 

Bit of a side note, the videos for this album were incredible too!

Bedtime Stories for all. Joanne is a very nice album and a necessary step in her career but the reality of the situation is that in the grand scheme of her career it was nothing more than a stepping stone to ASIB.

Joanne is Gaga's worst project, nothing to remember

 

Artpop for example, it has personality, its on vibe, it's alive, unlike Jo

 

Bedtime stories is simply amazing

but Gaga needed joanne and the jazz album for her to get to ASIB, Chromatica and 2024 Gaga level so

Joanne was a very important album for Gaga to make, it changed the perception of her among in the general public in a very positive direction which has allowed her career to thrive since but it's still easily her weakest project. Not terrible or anything and there are some songs I return to, just not good from front to back

 

Bedtime Stories is a very underrated Madonna album, people label it as a response to Erotica backlash yet when you actually listen to it, Madonna apologizes for nothing and openly calls her haters out on Human Nature.

 

Madonna is the easy winner in this one

I like both, but Bedtime Stories is a much more mature project and the way Madge was able to so effortlessly pull off RnB like that is crazy. Survival and Human Nature are killer tracks, and even though its pretty much a Bjork song, the title track is a 10/10. 

 

Both served their purpose as Palette cleansers following (amazing in retrospect, but) disastrous eras in terms of GP backlash.  

Bedtime Stories by far.
