The only genuine SMASH from Taylor this decade is CRUEL SUMMER and that's from LOVER

All of her albums this decade are HITLESS, Unknown to the GP

Proving once again, how it's mostly just her big fanbase obsessively consuming her music

According to your vibes maybe :bibliahh:

No one cares about quick little hits, Katy has more than most and look where she is now. Taylor got to where she is because people have always consumed her albums in full at a rate higher than that of

Yes, her downfall is imminent. A steady decline since reputa I fear

Anti-Hero is a smash, let's be real now

her fanbase is the General public 🤷‍♀️

I'm annoyed of her overexposure as much as the next person, but if she was so HITLess… um she wouldn't be the biggest artist of the past 2 decades. :lmao:

Well yes, this is a very BTS'd era for her. And it's not like she's even out there promoting it besides the various variant threats she's released to keep the same 100k people that purchase everything 50+ times happy, so it all feels like a very insulated fan-driven era.

The people went back to streaming Cruel Summer I guess.

I mean, look at BTS Boys topping charts Globally with unknown songs but a SMASH among their bubble

No. Taylor is doing perfectly fine. Thanks for worrying about her career tho.

BTS has never even come close to the level of success Taylor is currently having despite having an even more rabid fanbase than Taylor. At their absolute peak, they weren't even getting half the daily streams Taylor gets on any given day - nor did they ever come close to her in unique listeners :rip: You could triple BTS' unique listeners and it would not match Taylor. Y'all need to stop with that silly argument already :deadbanana2:

The hits didn't come because, while the lyrics was verbose and present, the melodies WERE NOT present, so ZERO (0) songs have gained traction with the general public, including the lead single which is an unmemorable mess with a drab video and featuring a former rapper turned country chanteuse.  :celestial5:

Fortnight is probably gonna outdo the leads of the other mpg like yes and, Texas hold em, lunch, Houdini.
If those are hits, so is Fortnight.
The album has been performing amazingly anyways. Any hits collected now will just be cherry on top.

And what was Anti-Hero, #1 in 15 countries (incl 2 months on top in the US and #4 on the Year-End Chart despite losing its strongest weeks), and nearly 8x platinum eligible in the US and multiplatinum in several countries, with over 2.5B WW streams if not a genuine smash  :deadbanana4:

Songs like But Daddy I Love Him have potential to become longtime streaming smashes, but I agree that it has no proper hit material the way most of her previous albums do and I think every non-chronically online person agrees.

I genuinely have not heard a single song from this album and i spend a lot of time scrolling on tiktok/instagram reels/youtube shorts

with MIDnights i kept hearing the "it's me i'm the problem" song on tiktoks/shorts for a few months when it was released

True but Billie has shown us recently that you can have both, no? Hits and people consuming albums in full…

Yeah and Billie is only 3 albums in. Taylor was having massive albums and massive hits 3-4 albums in as well. It's easier to get hits when you're a young, fresh new artist. What isn't easy is maintaining that level of interest in your entire albums as a legacy artist later on down the line.

the problem is she doesn't even care to push for hits anymore. TTPD actually has a bunch of top 3 worthy songs like But Daddy I Love Him, Who's Afraid, Broken Heart, Down Bad, Guilty as Sin, So High School and Favorite Toys

She doesn't need hits when her album is the hit. If you think only swifties are streaming this album you are a fool.

It has at least one hit (depending on if you call ICDIWABH a hit, which I would), but not GP smashes. ATRL constantly confuses the two. Many, many people are familiar with Fortnight—even if it is just among fans / casual fans / radio listeners, that is still a huge number of people.

Texas Hold Em was bigger than every song on TTPD.

For REAL.. she don't know how to compose catchy melodies for real

Might as well write poems from now on

The OP is obviously bothered by Taylord's success, yet he kinda vaguely has a point: I mean, as a fan I wanted the era to be managed a little different...   Guilty as Sin or Down Bad are right there and they could be as big as "please please please", the Lord obviously doesn't need that but I wish everyone around me knew these 2 songs (that 100% deserve to be single) and I'd like to randomly hear them

everywhere.

ofc they belong to the most successful era of the decade, so it doesn't really matter, yet 2 music videos and a radio push would have been the cherry on

top imho.

For an album that gets sold with new variants more than Taylor changes her underwear, the album lacks hits. Now I know the 2 official singles released peaked high but I couldn't tell you what either of them sound like and I rarely ever hear Taylor playing on the radio these days.

does Torturing The General Public Department lack hit songs?

I disagree with your entire message, but this was a kii. Lemme give you your 7s…

but Taylor does have a hard time scoring hits

The same person who has the biggest female hit of the decade? And she didn't have to run to Bruno either
