The funny thing is that even if the 'fanbase only' drags were true, that would still be more people than the so-called GP listening to their favs. So she'd be more than fine having not only more people listening to her than other artists, but also people that are most invested in her as an artist as a whole. 

 

So truly, I still fail to see how that would even be a drag.

Certifications are not automatic. This is why they have "zero" sales in the US for example. It is not 2013 anymore. Digital sales are not a thing.

Certifications for majority of countries are automatic. Texas Hold Em has more certified sales (which include those streams) in Germany alone than Fortnite has outside of the UK combined. Congrats on the Spotify streams though!

Congrats to THE at selling more in few European countries. World has 195 countries and Fortnight outdid globally in every possible streaming platform. And it is still doing millions of streams daily while THE is already forgotten. 

To be fair, I don't think TTPD was "intended" to be an era of hit singles.

 

I think it would've been easy to edit it the album down to 12-14 songs, with Fortnight, Broken Heart, Down Bad, Guilty As Sin and loml getting traditional singles rollouts…but that's not what this era is.

 

This era feels like a cathartic release of diary entries about the huge life changes she's experienced over the past 18 months.

 

I think the next album will be much more curated, with traditional "hits." 
 

The juxtaposition of that next to TTPD will only make it stand out more, like "oh look, she took the feedback onboard and delivered a concise album filled with smashes again."
